Weekend booze (N/G)

As the direct result of an utterly rancid, rotten and revolting week at work I went big at Tesco earlier, treating myself to a bottle of Kraken dark spiced rum, a bottle of Kraken salted caramel dark spiced rum, a litre of Stolichnaya and a ten box of Neck Oil just in case I feel the need for a beer. I don't intend to drink ALL of it this weekend, but it's nice to have options.

Spotted cinnamon flavour Coca Cola in the shop and thought it might go alright with the ordinary Kraken and, my god, does it ever. This will now be my drink of choice in the winter months.

What's your poison this weekend?

I've had a bottle of Cheddar ales pale and a Jaipur IPA with dinner tonight. Probably a few cans of craft IPA and some red wine rest of the weekend will see me through

Lemsip and a cheeseboard for my evening as the wife is out at her work Xmas do. Going down well alongside watching Derby (currently) demolishing Pompey.

A small whisky the Ardmore at £20 from Asda .
My first bottle. Full of flavour. Definitely won't be my last bottle.
Said to be
Style of Ardmore · Smoke · Vanilla · Honey · Cinnamon · Heather · Toffee

Is Neck Oil that fizzy shit? Think I paid some ludicrous price for it at the Anchor and Hope (they'd run out of proper beer) in Charlton, down by the river when we lost there 1 0 in our relegation season. The game was shit and a goalkeeping error cost us.

So no, not a fond memory of it. You deserve better Herr.

Tanquery and Fever Tree while watching Black Doves.

Tomorrow, my match day beer, yet to be decided and purchased.

Wairarapa sauvignon Blanc or local Clearview rose. Tonight will be a ballsy malbec with steak on the BBQ. 40C sat here in the garden at the moment
Edit: Tea and a digestive bicky watching Gills lose tonight

I’m off to Leeds for a party later, so I’ll be drinking anything really. When one of us go to the bar we have to order about 15 beers, and lucky if anyone helps you. I usually order Guinness, Tetley's, lager and a couple of whisky’s. It’s random on the amount. No one complains, and I could be drinking anyone of the above. I’ve usually had a few before I get there anyway, as meet some at one of the pubs at Leeds station. Today is The White Rose at 2pm if anyone wants to join in!

Guiness Zero.
As I can't drink much alcohol any more I found this is the only flavoursome alternative that's not far off the real thing.
I gave up alcohol a few years back due to gout 😭. Guinness zero is a great drink. I know quite a few drinkers who drink it coz of the taste.

There are quite a few decent non and low alcohol beers around now. My youngest son sent me a mixed box from a brewery closed to him. Lovely stuff. Didn't find one dud ✅

Not a fan of the white stuff, but Martinborough`s Pinot Noir`s are renowned. (Bit too pricey for me !). Wairarapa & Hawkes Bay - if they are (relatively) on your doorstep - lucky you. If Dean Martin was still around, he`d no doubt sing about it !

Still recovering from paying over 8 quid for a pint of something they called IPA whilst watching the Lightning Seeds at the Town and Country Club last night. Thankfully singing Three Lions at the top of my voice took my mind off the beer.

I was out with the boys yesterday, guzzled loads of Guinness and rum with Diet Coke.

Abstained today.

Might have a couple of glasses of red tomorrow
