Web Design Help!

My website works in Firefox and Chrome and also on smartphone but in Internet Explorer it's all messed up. Some of the menu buttons are hidden behind images and some of the images don't fit together.

I have a very basic knowledge of web design but this one was done in CSS which I know nothing about.

I've no idea where to even start with this. Help!

I see what you mean. I think the problem must lie in the stylesheet emphasis.css which I can't see. Try running your URL through http://validator.w3.org/ and see what that throws up.

Thanks, TMG. It found six errors. It's all gobbledygook but at least it's a start. I'll look more closely at it when I have a clear head.

Your website is fine on my Mac's Safari browser.

IE is shite, and has been for decades. It is well known for glitches and incompatibility issues. Does anyone still use it?

It is a bit of a nightmare, you think all is well then go on another browser and there are issues.

iE really is very poor these days but must admit, the stability of a few is a bit annoying. Opera has been crashing a lot recently for me and chrome keeps having flash player issues!

Its use is steadily declining but it's still used by 13.5%. See:

Unfortunately about 25% of visitors to my site are still using IE so I'll have to fix it. Every other browser seems fine. You'd think Microsoft would have the resources to make a decent browser.

Bugger! It's giving me errors from pieces of code which I can't find. Code like: <div id="navlist">, which doesn't appear on the index page or in any of the CSS coding.

For web design I recommend consulting a spider :14:
