If we don't expect anything we won't be disappointed whatever happens. I, for one, didn't expect much last season if I'm being honest.
 
I don't think I can help hoping for the best outcome - it adds to my enjoyment. If it doesn't happen I will have enjoyed the ride and will deal with the disappointment.
