...which is a good job, because we can't afford them.

Much better to play percentage football, aim for a high number of free-kicks/corners and score directly from set pieces, or from second-phase possession thereafter.

Anyone can get their head on the end of a set-piece, or poke it into the net after a 18-yard-box scramble. You don't need pace, skill, finishing and guile for that.

I'm not entirely joking... look at the last two years.
 
Partly agree. Wycombe play a similar style and got promoted.

Better to have better players playing your percentage style though right?
 
everyone kept saying we need to sign a fourth striker, a twenty goal striker... some still like the look of miller, who scored 30+ in the national league two seasons ago.

how would they feel if we signed a guy that had just scored 26 in the national league.

would some people continue to say we need to sign a fourth striker, a twenty goal striker. could it be the fourth striker - the twenty-six goal man - has already signed.

In what way?

They have skilful footballers we don't!
They can pass the ball we can't!
They can play formations other than 442 we can't!
Their youngsters want to play football ours want to play video games!
They believe they are good we believe we are rubbish.
There players play all over the world ours can't even get a game in the top division here!

So yeah pretty similar :lol:

It`s simple on the matter of strikers or no strikers it`s the quality of the ball into the box everytime that counts.

Last season too many diagonals into fresh air and little quality crossing from the byline.(widemen not up to task or injured)
Set piece success was less effective (inc loss of Raggs)Lots of the corners were overhit and wasted.
Are lcfc players instructed not to shoot from outside the box?We ARE VERY WEAK IN THIS AREA......little return there so back to quality ball.

Most goals are scored in the box therefore it`s,case proven.
Whether you launch long(NOTHING WRONG WITH A QUALITY LONG BALL) or tippy tap up to the opponents box if the strikers get no decent ball you will get no return even if you are playing with 6 lads who always hit 20 goals a season
 
A great idea if we had Iniesta and Xavi in their pomp. Or even an attacking midfielder such as Salah or Hazard capable of 20 plus a season. Unfortunately in L2 they are like the preverbial rocking horse poo. I see Wigan have just spent a seven figure fee on a Posh midfielder ( Da Silva I think) so it's not just strikers that cost a fair bit.

We need strikers otherwise the dark days could loom again
