January 2019 Almiron signs for us
July 2019, Benitez follows the money

Of course that's if you believe Ashley's version of events.

I tend not to believe proven liars.
Unfortunately you do though vin.
You would rather believe some of us are naive rather than the reality of Ashley being a thief.

Ashley is also a liar as well as a thief something you don't appear to be able to grasp.

Enjoy Ashley's cup run and the entertaining 3-2's.

I don't have a clue where you get the idea that I can't grasp that Ashley is a liar vin.
I really do....
You have to grasp the fact that Benitez officially backed the liar.

The irony of those exposing Ashley as a liar thief and a charlatan when they clearly believed him after he bought in Benitez is staggering though.[/QUOTE]

I was a fan of Benitez whilst he was our manager, we all know the owner is a liar etc, but under Benitez stewardship I never believed in Ashley , I hoped that despite everything going on negatively re the owner Benitez may have been able to give the club some respect and a slight chance of improvement, be that a cup run or a higher league placing .
I wasnt delusional and wanted some silverware, just year on year improvement .

This is also my view. :agree:

I don't get how any manager could give us respectability under Ashley TP and would love to hear how that works ??

That's not my argument though and I totally respect yours or anyone else's train of thought regardless of whether I disagree or not in regards to liking Benitez.

Those raging and turning against the club because Benitez fucked off are hypocrites at best ,there is much stronger description for those who attack his latest manager after supporting the last one:grinning:

Forget respectability under Ashley. The former shirt sponsors put paid to that. It seems fairly unanimous that in the long term, we want him out of our club.

Why I advocated a manager like Rafa or Mourinho 4 months before Rafa was appointed (3 days after Rafa came onto the market) was to get Ashley out at a price he would accept. I still think it would be the best way to get rid of him.

The alternative is to wait for yet another relegation without a quick rebound and see him lose loads with a shell of a club, the sort of club that Leeds, Blackburn, even 1973 FA Cup winners and others have been for years, with who knows how long to recover.

For me, it is quite poignant that we got past West Brom. Sir Bobby against Megson was my father's last match at SJP after his first cancer diagnosis and my son's first match at SJP. 4 cancers later, this season is the last chance for Dad to see NUFC win a major trophy, hoping he lasts until May.

On a side note, in one of his interviews, Ashley did say that he would go after NUFC win a trophy or Champions League slot.

An FA Cup win could be a win/win all around. A day out at Wembley advertises what fantastic support our club generates, showing prospective buyers what potential our club has. It also gives Ashley a get out.

Regardless of the divided opinion over Hall, we got our club back once. We can do it again. Let's get on with trying to win a cup and advertise ourselves to a decent buyer.

What a fucking dilemma mac !
Ashley and his sky cohorts would have a field day if we won a cup.
In there twisted minds It would justify what they have being pushing down our throats for all these years, which is we should be grateful.

Cracking post by the way.
It really is a dilemma mate - just let it sink in - having genuine doubts whether you want your club to win a cup for the first time in 50 odd years - its inconceivable in a way but that's where the fat cockney knacker has us

The thought of Ashley lording it up is unbearable mac
If we reached the semis for example i'd be willing us on but would trigger a self imposed media blackout in the unlikely event of us getting to the final.

I'm counting on the fact that we will probably be the crappiest team in the last eight as a means of escape from the nightmare choices we could face but with Saint-Max and Almiron in the team and the type of saves Dubravka can make on his day the nightmare becoming reality is not impossible

Aye in context it's incredibly sad that so many have and will in future miss out on what we were essentially raised to live for.

Any manager who works for Ashliar willingly accepting the restrictions imposed on him is a ****, end of!

Keegan walked as soon as he found the liar out, Hughton tried his best but was sacked for not towing the party line.

Benitez IMO played politics using his relationship with the fans to appear untouchable. The football was shite, players signed were shite and he didnt have to sign that 3 year contract.

Kinnear, Pardew, McClaren, Carver, Bruce ALL have willingly accepted the conditions AND publicly sucked up to the owner. The worst of the lot being King Silver fox Pardew dedicating wins to the slug, calling him a fan, announcing being happy with the squad etc.

Bruce is Ashliar's perfect manager, local lad and Championship specialist etc etc.

Great post UK.

You correctly identify Keegan, Hughton and Rafa as not toeing the party line.

As for the 3 year contract, some of us have ended up working for total bastards who lied to us.

If reports are to be believed, there have been more attempts to buy Ashley out under Rafa than under any other manager. Given his holistic approach to management, it wouldn't surprise me if he was also trying to work in league with potential buyers.
