All the talk of Britt staying or going

Cash in as best we can and spend 5m on this lad

Two seasons from now we won't even remember Britt and will be having debates about not selling Watkins for less than 25m etc

Watkins is only going to get better and his next move after us would be epl

If we could keep him two or three seasons he might even take us to epl

 
Reminds me of the clips of collymore at Southend before we signed him

And collymore was a year older then


This lad only 21

Only 20 in some of those clips

This lad could be our next collymore

Britt never will be
 
I wonder how Vital would react if we spent £5m on a 21 year old who scored 15 goals in League Two last season, bearing in mind the lukewarm reaction to Cummings who scored more goals in the Scottish Championship; a level many say is on par with League Two
 
Quality player, obvious for anyone who takes the time to look at it, definitely worth £5m in the current market.

Reminds of Callum Wilson when at Chav.

Plenty of championship clubs including villa, Leeds and Derby weighing up offers for this lad

I've got a gut instinct about this lad and I'm serious about the collymore similarities

He's shooting with both feet and beating players on the way to goal. He's a good size and putting headed goals in as well.

Britt wouldn't score some of those goals in the clips

Look back on the Stan clips for Southend to see the same rawness etc

Trust me on this one
 
16 goals from 51 games last season isn't mind blowing.

He scored 9 from 22 the season before which is more impressive.

Everyone looks great on YouTube scoring goals. You are seeing the very best.

But he's not doing it week in week out and we don't see the ones he messes up.

I'd be open to signing a player like this just as I'm open to us signing Jason Cummings but the fact remains that if we sell Britt we need to sign a reliable goalscorer, someone we can be pretty certain is going to score double figures for us.

If you don't have that then it doesn't matter whether you sign one 'gamble' player or two, you are risking your status
 
Has anyone put a bid in for him yet ?
Surely worth taking a punt before we sell Britt so the price doesn't automatically double .
If not maybe Bogle ?

31 goals from 73 games aged 19 and 20 ish is actually as good as you could expect

He's still a young kid in striker terms

Same age a young and raw collymore scored 1 goal in 20 games for palace

Next season Watkins would be collymore stage when he scored 15 in 30 games

Watkins is still learning but so are all strikers at this age

He's going to get better and better

Two appearances and two goals for Wigan. Injured?

Even so, odd they don't want to give him a chance at a lower level. I believe their PPs have run out so maybe it's financial

 
If we signed Watkins we can even bring back the same song as we did for Stan

Ollie there's only one Ollie.

Just need the lighter blue away shirt season after next and its destiny

Players like Stan only come around to a club like ours every 25 years!
