We move on to another away match with trepidation after a disastrous run of form on the road (one win in ten). Yes, we have improved our game a lot under Matos but can’t seem to replicate home form in away matches, individual mistakes often letting us down.

Our next opponents are Watford, they are a point off the play-offs, last 6 matches WWWLDD.

Last Saturday Watford drew 1-1 away to Blackburn. Their last home game they drew 1-1 with lowly Portsmouth, so there is hope for us.

Watford are managed by Javi Garcia since Oct 25. It is his second stint at the club, having led Watford to their most successful season in 2018-19, taking them all the way to the FA Cup final and producing their highest ever Premier League finish in 11th place.

Watford are renowned for their turnover in managers. Since the Pozzo family bought the club in 2012 they’ve had 22 managers.

Turning back to the Swans, they now have a free week to analyse the Hull defeat and recharge the batteries ready to go again.

Watford 0 - Swansea 2 (Stamenic 54’, Key 79’)

At last an away win against a side above us and one that is chasing a play-off spot. It was deserved as well with our high press unsettling Watford at the start where we had a succession of corners. Watford came back into it and had a few shots which Vigouroux saved comfortably and it was 0-0 half-time.

Second half was ours as we mostly dominated and scored two goals could have been more. First was from a Tymon corner met by Vipotnik at the near post, header on its way into the far corner of goal, helped in by Stamenic.

Second was a Stamenic close range cross come shot across goal which sub Key met perfectly. It was then a matter of seeing out the game which was played out with some ease for a change.
