VV did you know ''I am not well'' thread

Seems like some of us have the dreaded winter lurgies! 4 of us on sick note as I speak that I know of in ''really interesting''

Here's the place to leave your tale of woes on your lurgies and how unfair they are!

Atishoo, atishoo we all fall down! Passes the tissues around. I am not sharing my cough sweets though. Anyone seen the thermometer?

Well today my temp shot up to 40.5 degrees, Heart rate was 112 and Blood pressure was 110/54. I was worrying thinking I had sepsis. Since I've come down stairs my temp has gone to 38.7 so it's coming down. The nurse in me always ponders the worst scenario.

I've had the flu the past week, spent New Years in bed while there was a party in my own house!

Think I'm over the worst of it, but my voice is still almost gone and I'm still coughing a bit. My whole family got infected over Christmas so I never had a chance before I left.

Does anyone know when it's okay to go running again coming out of a flu?

I would wait until you are 100% better SJH, Your body needs all its resources to fight the illness.

I am not ill.

But i fully predict that i will be, as three people who sit closest to me at work are snotting, coughing and sneezing all over the place. Wish they would just piss off away from me.

Yeah, I probably should sirdennis, don't want to go out and land myself another 2 weeks in bed! After the weekend I imagine I should be back to normal.

I think I'm super human, as Natalie, Buddy and Sophie have all been wiped out with sickness or tummy bugs over the past 3 or 4 days, but I soldier on playing Florence Nightingale to them all.

And is it appreciated?!? Is it feck! Well maybe by Buddy!

Oh and I am still not well. I am beginning to think this is going to turn out to be ''man flu''

I think my cold is getting worse, not better The plus side is Mr KK hasn't got it thank goodness

I can report man down. Full on man flu has taken a grip. Arrived back from Italy xmas/newyear trip yesterday with sore throat and blocked nose which has developed into tbe worst form of manflu.

On a more serious note my mum has got pancreatitis and is in hospital in Worcester. Hoping she recovers soon.

Thanks Kefkat. My mum is still suffering as the Pancreas is still inflamed, and will be in hospital until at least early next week. As you say, a very painful condition with Morphine to help her. They want to remove her Gall bladder and Gall stones, but cant do anything until her Pancreas calms down. Really feel for her.
Get well to you too

When you feel completely over it, you should wait at least another 24 hours before easing back into training

Always take into account that training lowers your immune system, so if you feel like whatever it was is coming back, take another 2 or 3 days off :35:

Well the lower back had eased enough for me to walk around without looking like I was a 100+ years old. So I did the right thing. Went shopping, vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom. I am such a dick. Back to square 1!

Cheers Juan, I probably should have left it a day or 2 after feeling back to normal, although I felt fine the body was slow, took it very easy for a couple of days but now back to full running strength!

I meant to get on to you too about the dumbbells routine I asked about a while back, I'll pop over to the weights thread and stick a message in there :35:
