VS newcastle cup game

Dominguez, Anderson, boly but again he’s older but he reads the game well e Pugh to position sensibly
I don’t think those two are seriously unfit tbh. I thought Anderson ran his balls off (probably more than he would normally do due to opposition) and I thought dom ran his balls off but was just v ineffective. Not easy to be chasing tonali and Bruno around all night…Fair enough on boly….almost seemed to be a right back at times which I just didn’t get at all.

Think a new cb and Oma on loan to a top championship team wouldn’t be a bad idea. Oma doesn’t seem aggressive enough to me.

Agree, but will be surprised if we add 3. A dream end would be Chalobah or Bijol, Andre and fuck knows on a striker! Brobbey if it is a dream lol
We normally add more than that on deadline day

There's loans as well we might do

Might be 5 in and a couple out yet

I think EM likes doing stuff

Forest would have been drawn away to AFC Wimbledon had the shootout gone the other way- a shame, as obviously that is a winnable game, and then Forest are right in the competition.

Some old hands suggest players should start the season slightly under cooked re fitness. After 6 games fitness comes. Nothing like proper games to build fitness. Friendlies don’t do it. Pressure and adrenaline takes its toll. Look at Saturday, Milenkovic, on debut, getting cramp within 80 mins. Yet he played in World Cup and trained to last 120 mins. Awoniyi getting full 90 will be important. All 11 starters were different from weekend. It is a long season. Judge fitness at end of Sept not in August. Recipe for long injury list all being match fit in August.

Agree with a lot of that. Think we have looked at previous seasons and have been lighter with the players this pre season. Having a good bench where we can make 4/5 subs will help us as well

Very poor mistake for the early goal

Done well after. Shame our penalty takers didn't help him become a hero

Think you are counting all your chickens a bit early southern

But not my decision. That will be down to Nuno.

hmmm he looks like he gives players second thoughts just by his size alone. made some very decent stops, at least one sels would never had saved. saved a pen.

can also kick.

only as good as your last game and on that basis, the big man starts for me.

it really does help when you don't have to drop in quality. fook me but I don't remember when we had this kind of depth in the squad.

Thought his handling was excellent too after the first effort

Good take from corners

We now have significant FB cover.

I’d personally now leave the goalies alone and keep Turner as third choice until January

Would Fofana from Chelsea be a solution off the bench as opposed to a starter? Or Broja, either on loan?

I’ve mentioned a few times before, but with all rumours circulating I’m surprised that our two new execs from Benfica and Slovenia haven’t come up with options. Other than tenuous links to Bijol
