Vs Brighton.

Not our day. I thought we played well though. Anderson and Sangare were excellent. Opposition are wise to our slow starts after European games and Brighton did similar to Bournemouth by upping the intensity for the first 20 mins. Disappointing that we then went behind after improving and we just couldn't get the equaliser in the second half. Have to win on Weds now to close the gap that has developed.

You clearly missed Dominguez tackling their player on halfway, surging away down the touchline, and crossing perfectly for MGW to hit it first time. Almost a goal of the month contender but just whistled wide.

I don't see Dominguez as a problem at all.
I didn't miss it, but one thing all fucking half isn't enough to justify a selection, especially when his piss poor defending opens us up to a terrible goal at a terrible time

Every time the ball goes on that wing, either MGW or Anderson or both have to leave the centre to help out or he just stops and passes backwards.

You point out the one good attacking thing our "winger" managed all half.

And I've just listened to Sean Dyche on the radio admitting he got it wrong

Will morato ever play again?

Ndoye...crap.

Jesus. Makes nothing happen

Dyche was talking about dominguez after 15 mins. Shouting at him to wake up

Yeah, I haven’t seen many or any teams start like that against us to be fair
Really?

It's almost every match

We struggle first 20 mins, wrist slashers in full speed then we come good and go up a gear.

We were handicapped today though with no Murillo

Jesus was very good today. Unlucky with his shot, strong as ox in all duels, brilliant first touch and skill levels, he needs a PL goal to get going.

I’d have liked to see him stay on and drop into the 10 with Kali.

Don't know what football club you are watching

No one has started like that against us this season, and I can't recall one any other season.

That was the most shots Brighton have ever had in the first 20 mins of a Premier League game.

Yes, it's not that unusual for us to struggle a bit for the first 15 to 20.

But we rarely look as big a shambles as we did today and the opposition rarely come at us as well as they did. They were brilliant and kept overloading us

It was a credit to Forest that we wrestled some grip back onto game

100% how I saw it too

Its almost every match we start with our backs to the wall, irregardless of how good the opposition is on the given day.

You know what I meant Mr picky

Irregardless is not a word in this context.

I don't know what you meant.

We don't start every match badly. We didn't start badly against Leeds or Malmö. We didn't start badly against Brentford or Chelsea.

Yes, we sometimes start cold and warm up into the game. It is an issue at times.

But today was another level. We were an absolute circus, they were like a team of fucking terminators.

20 mins in we just shook it off, wrestled control back and the next 20 mins were ours until we threw it away.

It isn't really relevant though; we didn't lose because of our poor start

Disappointing result and I have to agree with pope that we’ve got to stop with this bollocks playing one winger and one striker at home - it’s always awful and we always end up changing and we always end up better.

People were very up themselves criticising that comment when we beat Leeds but I made the point that better opposition wouldn’t allow us the luxury of getting back into it going 1-0 down and so it proved.

Thought Jesus was outstanding as a lone striker and I thought Sels was superb in keeping the scoreline down. Hutchinson came on and made a huge difference - shock horror! He’ll start to become very bitter if he’s not getting starts. Football isn’t just about goals and assists - it’s about how you change the way the opposition play, and we went from being ridiculously overloaded at full back to them being pressed back… why? Because we had a winger that was not just capable of beating his man and putting in a cross, but one that was WILLING to in Hutchinson.

unfortunately, it’s why I just don’t rate Dan Ndoye - I think he’s bang average. Doesn’t stretch teams enough and doesn’t deliver enough quality. He has the occasional moment, but more often than not, he gets the ball, pulls back and plays it to the full back. In the end, that’s nowhere near good enough when you compare it to the outputs of both Hutchinson and Mintah for Brighton.

Hudson-Odoi no better, but sadly for i him im not so convinced its driven by a lack of willingness to go for it, but more that he simply struggles when he can’t commit his one trick of cutting inside.

All in all, we weren’t terrible (after the first 25 minute horror show), but we’re got to start playing our best 11 from the start, especially at home. Won’t even talk about Morato because we all know he’s not good enough for where we want to be.

Shocking team selection from the manager.

Dominguez didn’t shine against Malmo, there was no reason to start him today.

I was bewildered by Hutchinson’s absence from the starting XI - he’s absolutely rinsed every full back he has played against this season, and did it again today.

Morato was shocking, but so was Savona - for large parts of the game the right-back position was completely empty.

Between their two goals we had a real go and they made some great last-ditch blocks, but nobody else would have picked that team and it cost us.

0/10 for the manager today.
