The Vital servers must have crashed overnight as I couldn't login until around 8:30am. If I receive any further details I will of course update via this thread :026:
 
A further server upgrade is expected very shorty and a downtime is expected to be around 30 minutes to an hour.

Another glitch I have found, Mr. T, relates to private messaging. I was in my inbox doing some housekeeping and I can't access my sent box.

There is a little icon above the 'send box'. Click on that and you'll access all of your sent PM's. If you don't have any success let me know.

I've not received or sent a PM for a couple of days and so I don't know if the 'quote' facility has returned. Can anyone confirm or deny whether we can 'quote' within the PM yet?
 
Thanks, Mr. T. I was pressing on the word 'sent' instead of the icon. :060:
As regards the quote function, it doesn't look like it.

Isn't that what they used to look like? I thought we were moving away from that because it looked 'tired'?
 
I quite liked the 'new' look, where the format was laid out 'on the top', but, yes, it does look like the 'old' format has been re-instated, with a fresh type face?

I do like the 'attach a file' option, so long as I remember to tick it! :003:
 
There are a couple of issues which still haven't been resolved, a couple of which i'll bring to Vital Towers attention sometime next week.

Has anyone else got feedback?
 
I don't like the way it now only shows the last post you are quoting, instead of the full conversation (like it did before). The context something is said in is very important (I've argued this many times in the past when a single sentence has been quoted in a meedja article, causing uproar. Then when the sentence is read in context, it has an entirely different meaning). Context is everything, and we'll lose that with this new layout :013:

Overall though, it's a vast improvement :001:
 
The emoticons aren't working properly. If you click on one to add it to the post, then submit, it just gives you the colon/number/colon in the post instead of the picture (unless you add a space prior to hitting submit)

It always has done. The code will disappear once you press the submit button. Or have I got it wrong? :002: :028: :045: :086:

I found before if you clicked on the emoticon it came up no problem...but several months ago, the code did instead, so I made a note of the ones I used the most often, and typed that in, and lo and behold, the emoticon appeared when after I clicked submit.

Finding now, as you've pointed out, Tudor, that the code shows first, and the emoticon after submit....am I making sense? :048:

The code comes up in preview mode, but still shows as code after i hit submit.

It does appear to be happening intermittently though. Another thing I've noticed, is that some people appear to have their signatures back, but mine is still missing

i wonder if my profile might be corrupt? :048:
 
Regarding the signature, mine always appears but I only come on here using ipad or computer, never a phone.
I haven't had a problem with emoticons either.



 
I am led to believe the majority of issues have been resolved, certainly around mobile phone use, however, Vital HQ are still working on the remaining problems.

Can you give it a week or so and if the problem(s) persist, as per the above posts please let me know via this thread.

Other than mentioned, is there anything else? I know i'm still waiting for the red icon to reappear when one receives a new PM.
