Recovery is dull… you feel ok as things go but then forget you are linked together with wire!

Trying to go easy on morphine as it’s a horrid drug.

Everything still tastes like crap which makes food a tad depressing, I’m managing 5-6 hour sleep in a block which helps. The rest is naps under pain meds

Are you in hospital or back home SR

I’m limited mate… only allowed 5 min walk a day for few wwwks so that’s my wander to get a paper. Try and read but meds make it tricky, watch travel/food programmes..potter a bit
SR, I know it might be to personal a question, but are the docs happy that you can make a full recovery, and all this can be behind you soon enough?

You've been through the fucking mill to say the least mate

Er it’s an important stage as the cancer was pumping out hormones that was fucking up my valves etc… so I’ve had 2 valves and a bypass to address that damage. Then once I’m recovered they need to remove/try to remove the primary tumour in the bowel. If that goes to plan then I’m just left with liver cancer they left too long….

If all that gets sorted then technically I’m cancer free… but I’ll always have high chance of it coming back as something else, it may not… but it’s a long way off yet

Recovery is beginning to get me down…boring as hell and I’m still limited on movement etc so I can’t just bugger off for a walk on the sea front. Can’t drive… just all gets you down p

Fuck me. You deserve a break SR. I think all on here would agree. Keep staying strong 💪

Had some good news today, had my telephone call from my Oncologist re my prostate cancer & afetr 5 years I've been officially discharged & the cancer is now officially in remission.

It's been a long journey not helped by the fact that it was right at beginning of Covid that I was diagnosed which meant that any treatment was delayed, this meant I had to have 2 months radio therapy instead of one, & I have suffered some unpleasant side effects from that from time to time that can recur anything up to 20 years after therapy stops still don't suppose I'll be here to worry in 20 years.

Anyway all good at moment. Thank you NHS
