Manchester City's club captain and legend Vincent Kompany has announced that his testimonial match 1will take place on 11th September 2019. All proceeds will be donated to Tackle4MCR to help tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in Manchester.
Kompany joined Manchester City aged 22 years from Hamburg and has been at the heart of the club's journey since his first season under Mark Hughes. He has led the team to multiple successes starting with the FA Cup in 2011, City's first league title since 1967 and three league cup victories.
Although more recently plagued by injuries which have robbed him of considerable playing time, he has been an integral part of the City dressing room and his presence and leadership are highly valued by Pep Guardiola.
He has made a fantastic contribution to Manchester City F.C. and we can only trust that his testimonial is graced with a tremendous turnout.
