If [unlikely] they play it will/would be interesting to see how MON utilises them and if he can get anything out of Hourihane that SB can't/hasn't

I've just seen that Scott Hogan has declared for Ireland.

There's a big Robbie Keane sized hole there to be filled, so as an Irishman I'm delighted with that. Yes, he's barely got his Villa career running yet, but maybe a taste of international football will be good for him. It'll also be interesting to see how he's used, although it might be a while before we see him in green just yet.

Playing for Ireland will teach Hogan a bit of passion (or MoN will coach the flair out of him).

Well Hogan is an Irish name and as he declared he is the owner of the complete Dubliners and Chieftains record collection he qualifies :17:

Not complaining about his liniage just about his ability to add to the Irish team. Can;t score in the championship. If he declared for England I'm sure there would be a few on here having a quiet chuckle.

The sad thing is he's well able to score in the Championship. Just not for us. Hopefully he'll come good soon though.
