Villa away to Preston

Maybe I'm missing something relying on watching the games on telly when they are shown and the official highlights when they aren't, but I'm still on the fence about Onomah.

For me, if you are playing in the hole, you have to be creating and/or scoring every game.

Personally I'd play Davies and Hogan up front with O'Hare on the bench.

Speaking of strikers, what's happening with RHM?

Cant see O'Hare making it as he is busy this evening scoring for the U23s who are stuffing the geordies.

Has Hutton done enough to keep his place? You can't fault his commitment but would Taylor be the better choice?

Hutton's better at getting forwards. Regards attacking I think him and Adomah are a decent combination down that side. Taylor's probably the better defender, but doesn't do much more than that.

As I mentioned on another thread, Villa U23s 4-0 up against Newcastle at HT. The future's bright...

McKirdy, O'Hare(2), Lansbury. Jack pulling the strings.

Can't fault Huttons commitment but going forward I feel like he's a massive handicap on the team and is a large part of the reason why we struggle to get good quality balls into the box. We need full backs who can not only defend but who are comfortable on the ball, can turn their body out when they receive the ball to open up the play and finally get quality balls into the box.

A quality right back could transform our team unfortunately we seem to have four options who are all OK but none really stand out. Elmo is proving to be the best option at the moment.

5-0. O'Hare hat-trick.

Edit: 6-0. Jake Doyle Hayes.

Edit: FT 6-0.

Me too. Playing up front with Davis might kick Hogan on. Need to see it from the start rather than the usual 10 mins or so when Hogan comes on at the end.

Onomah was thoroughly shocking v small Heath , I'm not sure about him .
As was Hogan again , who looks overweight, lacks confidence , pace , movement and ability
I would definitely bring Davis and Jedi in who made us look far better v small Heath
If Taylor is back I'd bring him in for Hutton also and maybe put Cafu RB and push Elmo into RM

Well if don't play like a Villa team against PNE at least we will look like one in the famous Claret and Blue jersey.
Coming out against the noses of all teams wearing claret and blue tops and then changing to black shirts for the game was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.

We have different opinions on here on who was putting in a shift. So it's fair to say without picking on anyone we didn't have eleven hearts out there.
We'll need them at Deepdale.

This fixture last season for me was in the top three of terrible performances and a certain Mr Westward being bullied off the ball for one of their goals. The other two was Bristol and Brentford so we can surely only improve our performance this time around and if Sunderland give them a game then surely we should really be thinking of winning this one.

Anyone miss Westwood ?

Certainly not a hater and it would've been nice to see him step up given what had in terms of talent with a manager that wasn't such a prick.

But since moving to Burnley and bitching a little about us, he has 9 starts and 8 subs.

Not really proving his critics wrong.

Wonder out of how many opportunities that is, couldnt be more than 25? Not a terrible return.

I would hazard that he isnt proving the critics right either (sums him up really) he is still in the EPL with a side currently 7th and having some sort of a positive showing.

I never hated him either in fact I often defended the poor fella I do find it hilarious people love Glenn when they are extremely similar. Seems being moderately better defensively covers up being the extremely inferior passer.

Never hated Westwood either, I thought it was sad he was seemingly the biggest scapegoat in that team. There was far worse.

Don't be so hard on our Glenn CDX lol, he's done alright for the Villa so far. I think the Irish fans criticism of him is a bit over the top sometimes.

Westwood was a joke . As for hutton, taylor plays at left back and when fully fit de laet is ahead of hutton. I'd play one up top as two up front away from home will leave a big hole in midfield.

Westwood was awful, truly awful. I have never seen such a limited midfielder in a villa shirt. I watched him last night coming in for Burnley. He literally runs around having no impact on the game whatsoever.

I am not saying Whelan is that good. Although you don't play 60 odd games for a decent international side like ROI if you are utter shite.

Difference between Whelan and Westwood and why I would have him any day over Westwood.

Look at the state of Whelan at the end of the derby game. Can you imagine Westwood ever coming off the pitch looking like that? .

No chance

Fuming and I really mean that.

I am taking a day off work to go to the game and now I have to put up with a display of one of the most inept referees of all time.

Utterly utterly useless , and I really mean that.
