(Video) Does Yaya Toure Have A City Future?

The lads from Blue Moon Rising TV ask, Is Yaya Toure definitely on the way out in summer or could he have a future with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City?

Speculation surrounding Yaya’s future has been bouncing around the media for the last couple of months. Why, well I suppose it might be because of his current lack of form, and or because of his laidback style of play.

The 32 soon to be 33-year-old has been scuppered by the odd injury here and there and at times, as a fan watching him from afar he can infuriate the hell out of you one minute and then go on a run, knocking the opposition defenders for six and in doing so leave you speechless the next.
 
I would like to think so, if he can put his mind to playing every game like he did against Villa and of course he would need to convince Pep
 
I don't think he deserves another chance, if he put as much effort into his game as he does arguing with refs, feigning injury he would not have the spotlight on him now.

Love Yaya, but carting his 90kg body around has taken it's toll on his legs. Where are the lung bursting runs down the middle these days. Pep will not want him because he moved him on once, so yes he will be gone to Italy or China for a huge quid no doubt this summer. Will he be loved by City fans, not many I guess, but I will still consider him as one of our best ever in midfield.
 
Not in my book Chippy, I'll always remember him as arguably the best player I've see in a City shirt and will be extremely grateful for what he's contributed to our trophy success in his time with us.

We've got our work cut out rebuilding this midfield in his absence.
 
I have to say we did miss him in yesterday's game at Norwich. I just have a feeling we might have got something from the match if he had played. Or am I grasping at straws?

Maybe i should have used "as much" instead of "more" he really has been frustrating to watch this season.

An absolute colossus on his day. Pretty much won us the League and League Cup in 2013/14. Also central to the FA Cup win and the first title under Mancini.

He's been behind all our success. How long was it we went without winning a game when he wasn't in the team?

Maybe the best player for City ever - all about opinions of course.

Coming to the end of his career now but we still need him and don't seem to play well without him or if he's off the boil.

 
I should have added that I dont see Toure being in a hurry to leave City unless there's a lucrative Chinese offer about , or some financial inducement from the Club. Wouldn't surprise me to see him pressing for some kind of (non playing) role at the Club.

Surely F25 and when fit Silva, Nasri, Red Kev and Delphi should provide some midfield guile?

Surely F25 and when fit Silva, Nasri, Red Kev and Delphi should provide some midfield guile?

First up I wouldn't put Silva/Nasri/KDB in this bracket as they are attacking midfielders, they're not central midfield players, although I reckon Nasri could probably do a job there.

As for Dinho and Delph, maybe they should KCT but they don't, not on anywhere near the same level as Yaya does/can.

Might Mr Kipling be capable of holding down a berth in the back four - or are his legs not up to it? Give Denayer a chance to gain experience as a deputy.

Re Otamendi and Mangala - both ok but really 6 out of tens when ultimately an 8 is required. Kipling might provide six and a half...

F6 is probably our only defensive midfielder and as such finding row z rather than guile is the first thought in his head - F25 is attack minded as is Silva etc - they are still midfielders and responsible for the guile quotient.

It would be a bit like saying AK13 and Zab aren't really defenders because they spend so much time attacking. Perhaps positions are in a constant state of post modernist flux and there is no longer a meta narrative regarding positions - something the Dutch were possibly the first to espouse?
