Surprise of the season. Still doesn't have Dier's passing ability but as we all know our conservative manager values defending above all.

Beast, must frustrate him after running around for 80 mins to see Sissoko come on and put zero effort in closing down his man.

Nor was Toby's.

Most passes of all our players yesterday. Now we just need to get him to be a bit more dangerous with that passing and work on his shooting a touch as he sometimes gets into great positions.

Didn't expect him to be as good a player as he is. Great signing so far.

Yup , very pleased with Victor. Next to somebody like Dembele he and with our defence he can express himself and does get forward. Both he and Moussa should shoot more often. Hoddle commented that we are trying to walk the ball in perhaps too much.

Just love Dembo and Victor. Both very difficult players to play against.

Agreed, they need to believe in their shooting ability and have a crack every now and then.

Trying to walk the ball in to the net is not the worst thing in the world, and can only be achieved with a very talented team, which we have. But we do need to mix it about.

I think you should encompass and make it clearer that Hoddle’s comments were mainly directed at the three players, excluding Son in front of Mousa and Victor.

Hoddle didn't name anyone. He just said ....they . Dembo, Victor and Walker were all getting forward and it was saturation point. So many could have had a crack but it got tippy tappy intricate. Which is ok at times and all approaches have to be tried in a park the bus situation. I think Hoddle wanted a bit more variety of approach.

Some positive comments by Harry Kane about Victor and Moussa. He has much admiration for them and their contributions this season.

One point he made was their ability on the ball and that they don't like dropping too deep which means quick attack turnaround. Winning challenges and second ball high up the pitch keeps the pressure on.

We have all noticed this of course and their mom votes reflect it. Nice of Kane to mention it though.

Bargain. 11m, one of the best DM's in the league. Makes you wonder what managers look for. It was obvious to anyone who had followed him he would be a hit here.

I thought he would be a major liability with red cards galore. He stayed remarkably disciplined.

Absolute beast in the middle of the park. The amount of times he has bailed us out this year is astonishing. The only problem with Wana was always his discipline but he has proven that with better players around him he doesn't make as many rash challenges as he did at the saints.

Still think Dier is the better around player in the DM slot, but Wana has cemented his spot there.

Still not 100% sure on the Wana-Dembele CM partnership. Yes it is very strong, but the build up play is slow and ponderous.

The third best passing stats on view, only behind Wany and Dembo...so not too shabby..

Well I can't pretend I was even partially right, watching him before I thought he was a walking guaranteed red card and that he was too prone to getting his timing wrong and giving away free kicks in dangerous places that hurt Southampton alot...but in all fairness to him, whether it's playing with better players or just general improvement , he's 100% better than I thought he was...

He's still giving away unnecessary free kicks imho, but he's not doing it close to our box, which he seemed to be doing constantly for the Saints, he tends to play further forward with us, his timing has improved and he's not going to ground so much.

I also didn't want him as I thought he'd halt Diers DM progress - which to some extent he has, but for the right reasons.
