It's been reported over the weekend that Jordan Veretout is now a target for Spanish La Liga side Real Betis.

The sooner the better, if his non-existent performance against the Shrews today, is any example of what he'll serve up if we keep him.
Maybe we can talk them, Betis, into taking Hourihan too.

And yet you want us to sign Samba?

I agree with Veretout by the way. But at least be consistant. Samba has spent the last 7 years earning huge contracts and then falling asleep.

Apart from the top French clubs, PSG, AS Monaco etc, the rest all seem to plead poverty when it comes to paying for a player but, when it comes to selling, they give it the, "we don't have to sell, we don't need the money." Sevilla are the same, not worth the hassle of dealing with them.

That's just called good business 58. Most of the PL clubs are absolute idiots and would sign Sooty for £xmillion if some random scout said he is worth a look. The money English clubs are prepared to fork out for average players is obscene!!

As for Veretout Holtelower- how do we know that it was not the club that pulled his medical due to the extra cash being offered by Fiorentina? We do not know that he is a "mercenary", what we are lead to believe from the press (who always tell the truth) is that he does not wish to play for Villa in the Championship.

The facts are that he is back and training with us pre-season and to my knowledge has not said anything about not wishing to be here. Whether he is good enough or unfit is a matter of opinion for each of us and ultimately for Aston Villa Football Club. TBH I am more interested in the pre-season performances and how we are going to integrate new signings than making shit up about a player's character.

take the £5m from either St Ettienne or Fiorentina or Bognor Regis FC, don't bother me, just get another one of the deadwood out the door and get the wage off our books - or to use it on another OAP - I hear Heskey's looking for a deal and was last seen wearing a Villa shirt so who knows (he'll probably be as proficient as Gabby anyway).

Don't even joke about Heskey, I'm still furious we signed him.
As for Veretout According to the Dr St Etienne wouldn't match our price and Fiorentina will.

If he was only interested in money wouldn't he just stay here? No idea what his wages are but I'd imagine we pay more than all but the top few in both France and Italy. Fiorentina are a bigger club than st Etienne and serie A is a better league than ligue 1. Though I must admit I don't care as long as he's not here, just don't think he's suited to England.

It was being reported late yesterday evening that Jordan Veretout had missed his medical with Ligue 1 side St Etienne owing to interest from Italian side Fiorentina.

This tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about Veretout.

Begs St Etienne to take him, they come to a deal with Villa, they arrange a medical for him , this money grabbing turd finds out Fiorentina are interested and doesn't turn up for his medical.

A fecking money grabbing parasite, has been since the moment we showed interest on him and I hope he ends his career penniless

Tosser of the highest proportion, however, as long as someone takes him from us, then who cares who it is - more fool them !

Fingers crossed he's gone this week and for better money.

Xia was on about something or other with this deal on twitter, think implying St Etienne were messing price wise and now I've just read that's what JW has said so why am I still typing? I'll stop any minute now.............

FIORENTINA SIGN VERETOUT

Fiorentina say they have signed Jordan Veretout from Aston Villa on a four-year deal. Veretout spent last season on loan at St Etienne and it is reported the move will be worth around £6m.

That's one quality midfield they have.

Carlos Sanchez and Veretout.

Did they not watch us the season we went down with those two??

Neither is rubbish, but neither is suited to English football. Too pressurised.
