v. St.Johnstone

The goal would have have been a mile off but for Ralston playing them on but the fault lies with Gordon. Gordon is pish with his feet but we seem determined to use him as some sort of ball-playing CB.

He can usually get away with it because he'll have a couple of experienced CB's playing in front of him who will usually only use him when it's safe to do so. Today we have a RB and and CM in front of him and an inexperienced kid at RB. All three continually made risky passes to Gordon for the entirety of that first half. Total Bollocks.

NEVER a foul by Lustig, good firm shoulder coming together and the St Johnstone striker took that contact and fell! Our "CBs" are starting to struggle at times though! Not cut out for dealing with what St Johnstone are throwing at them!

FT 1-1

That wee hun bastard gollum has fecked us again. Refused to give two straight red cards, the first a two footed tackle on Rogic and then an even more blatant one for a punch on Tierney!

30 odd shots on goal from us, hit the bar twice and denied a penalty.

Too many of the shots were down the keepers throat. Sinclair toyed with them 2nd half and could have had a hat-trick. Hayes done okay but we need better than him on the right. CalMac took his goal with the calm assurance you expect from him.

On another day it could have been 5-1. The goal we conceded was, once gain, self-inflicted and easily avoidable. All in all a poor result but good performance on the back of an energy sapping game and long haul travel to and from Astana.

However, this continuing blasé madness in central defence has to stop. Their goal was a direct result of having a RB and a CM playing at being centre backs in combination with an inexperienced RB. All three of them made constant risky passes to Gordon for the whole of that first half. Trouble will happily oblige if you keep inviting it.

No new injuries to contend with for tomorrow's match, which is good. Jozo back training again. Erik has apparently been back training for a month and at this rate he'll be ready just in time for the opening of the January transfer window. Cynical? Me? :emoticon:22 :emoticon:39

Hope Brendan doesn't make too many (if any) changes from the side that faced Bayern.
SInclair has been well off the boil in recent games and was completely anonymous against Munich.
Does he (BR) keep starting him in the hope he starts firing on all cylinders again or does he rest him and give Hayes a chance? Big call.

Rogic is another who has gone a bit off the boil recently, albeit he didn't start the other night he made little impression during his sub appearance. CalMac has to keep his place, imo.

Both will come good again but we've a good squad with plenty of other options and players busting a gut to get a start.

Who starts beside Broony out of Armstrong, Kouassi and Ntcham? Armstrong has been getting the nod of late but Kouassi was very good in his last game. A great headache to have.

On a more solemn note I'd like to express my sadness at the sudden passing of Scott McMenemy, more commonly known in Celtic cyberspace as 'Mince', the founder of CelticMinded.

Scott was a kind, thoughtful and big hearted fella who always went out of his way to help others.
I was honoured to call him a friend. Rest in peace, mate.

CELTIC (3-4-2-1) Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Bitton; Forrest, Brown, Armstrong, Tierney; McGregor, Sinclair; Dembele

Subs: De Vries, Gamboa, Hayes, Rogic, Ntcham, Edouard, Ajer

No changes apart from Edouard replacing Griff on the bench. Don't know if Griff is injured or not.

Chance to make history today...
