First thing that stands out for me is the lack of Edwards. Is he being given an extended break due to International duty?
 
Edwards is being given a rest as per normal when you have played in a late summer tournament for your Country, but it's also transpired he picked up a knock (again) whilst on England duty.

Even in the short appearances he made, he was regularly the subject of strong physical challenges and some badly timed tackles.

He will have to learn to deal with and toughen up; it's worth understanding that physically he's in the 'inbetween' stage and that too might be one of the reasons that we're taking our time with him - of course it could also be that he's just not managing to step up when it matters!
 
At what point do we have to stop pointing the blame at other players of a similar age and start to admit that we must be worried about if he is ever going to have the physical capabilities to be able to survive professional football?
 
I'll get to see our boys on the box tonight and in person on Tuesday (v Roma). Hopefully some of the young uns' get a run out and get to show there stuff...looking forward to this.
