This'll upset those with an obsession - the future is definitely claret and blue.

Great result for the lads but I find it frustrating when I hear from a friend who attended that O'Hare was "outstanding" as well as Bree.

If particularly O'Hare was fit enough to play last night then he certainly could have played tonight against PNE and add some spark and creativity to our one-dimensional midfielders that Bruce keeps on playing regardless of how poor they are playing :26:

Three first teamers I think, Vinagre was one buggered if I know the other two I can only go off the more exotic names.

O'Hare and Bree for the bench maybe? Nice to see RHM on the scoresheet again as well.

There is a big difference between doing it for the under 23s and doing it for the first team.

It's a ridiculously big ask to throw him into the first team and expect him to run the show.

unless you've been loaned in obv.
What our own U23s do seem largely irrelevant tbh

Well, it was what a certain Jack Grealish did. Grasped the opportunity from Tim Sherwood with both hands. OK, he still had a lot to learn, but Tim was right.

Thing about O'Hare, it seems to be not just skills but attitude; he never gives up. There comes a time when you just have to throw a player in. And just waiting until the tail end of a game when the result has already been sorted is not the way to do it.

The team as a whole has vastly improved, so O'Hare would be among good players who know their job. He's training with them. Makes sense to me.

I wouldn't expect him to "run the show" but how will we ever know unless Bruce picks him?

Who would you prefer to be in the first team selection, O'Hare or Onomah who is in the first team squad almost every week?

I know who I would prefer!

Give the boy some game-time, even if it's only 20 minutes. If he's good, he's good enough for game. Sooner or later another club will come sniffing and offer him first team football.

Bruce apparently wasn't there according to Brum Mail if I understood correctly, but Agnew, Calderwood and Clemence were.

With no Adomah or Grealish, give him or somebody else a shot with the message 'you have 45 minutes...earn the second half'.

Oh and no surprise he wasn't there given personal life is it...that was in no way a dig. The fact he sent all three when he usually is in attendance means he's looking.

He just has to take the leap.

If I understood you correctly 67? Bruce isn't in charge at that level, that's KMac's remit.

The only away they will progress is to get a run of games. If we go up, they will not get a look in, and if we don't go up they will have no experience and yet with FFP we may be reliant on them.

It's a catch 22, and Bruce is under extreme pressure to take us up. But just look at some of the players that have moved on and are getting regular game time elsewhere - they can all hold their own in this division.

To be fair to Bruce, with his recent family issues I am sure his time is required with them at this time.

O’Hare, Doyle-Hayes and RHM would improve our first team squad IMO.

We know how good they are now.

Yeah but will he .... goes against the grain, he is so risk adverse, I could go on and on.

Yes and no. He's relied on youngsters so far like Green and Davis, but he does appear hung up on bringing in a youngster that hasn't already been bloodied so to speak.

We're fans we'll always believe 'someone' else is better but no Adomah, no Grealish and Onomah impressing few I don't see what he has to lose by trying. As said 45 minutes, if it doesn't work at least he threw the dice, if it does work we're a game closer to getting both of them back and O'Hare (or another) gets 45/90 minutes under their belt to bring them on as well.

We should however be relying on Lansbury given what he showed he could do for Forest but he's not firing.

I think for Bruce he's struggling with the idea of sending in a youngster and facing that pressure given how vocal a small minority of fans are when they have access to twitter.

He shouldn't let it cloud him, as it appears he does returning to names like tonight - but I say that believing full well had Andre Green been available he'd have played in the hope he gave the spark.

100%

He closes doors that under current circumstances should be open, as I said he is risk adverse in the extreme, he'd probably rather play pieman

Yes, felt I needed to clarify my comment given his personal issues as it wasn't a dig.

We know their potential in U23 only though...I doubt if they'd improve us per se, but all three are basically unknown quantities they could have the stinker of their lives or the game of their lives and they could even have two halves of their lives.

Let's find out given those earning more consistently err towards stinkers.

If we don't benefit in the moment we benefit down the line, game time, aides their development, raises their potential sell on fee or at least raises their potential tribunal fee.

Surely we've learned from Cahill, Albrighton et al.
