Can't believe Lingard is starting ahead of Pritchard. Thought he'd be a shoe in with SB out.
Good positive comments by Southgate before hand.
He said about going there and being positive and going for the wins and not playing players out of position.
Shame that mug Pearce didn't do the same on previous tournos.
 
First half pretty boring stuff. Those portuguese lads seem to be technically better than the english lads.

Agreed.

Harry seems isolated, I'd like to see Ings on 2nd half.
 
Carroll has faded as the game gone on very ineffective for me.... Would like to see Pritchard on with his direct trickery.
 
Southgate making an example of Eric Dire is starting to look an inspired bit of man management ...mug
 
Carroll is good when players stand off him but when they put him under presser he just reverts to type.

Ward Prowse taken off didn't make any sense to me at all, but hey , we're talking England here, the parallel universe of football.
 
Watching this game I am even more convinced we should give WBA whatever they want for Berahino. Harry will need all the help he can get Saido and Hernadez be my two must haves.
