U18’s at BDBL in t’cup.

This goal was given to someone else after a deflection. Peck’s goal was a header shortly thereafter.
My early info was 3 assists, but it now appears to have been only 2. Apologies!
Still pretty good though.

Yes, all academies know all about those playing for others.
Agree on the Cat 1 status, but even at class 2, we are producing more stand outs than are a lot of cat 1s. The easier pathway into the first team helps enormously.
Long may that continue, but to be honest, with the current state of our finances, it is not only sensible, but necessary.

U21s v Sunderland in the PL cup tonight. Sunderland currently 9th (out of 26) in the Cat 1 Academies league. They beat Man U U21s 5-2 earlier this month.
We seem to be struggling. 1-0 down already and 3 in the book in the first 30 minutes.

:giggle: FT 2-1.

That’s 2 Cat 1s we’ve beaten so far.
Admittedly both at home (York) but quite an achievement nonetheless.
Edit: we've actually now beaten Sunderland home and away. (Apologies).

Two still to play in the "league" part of this competition - Hudd & Wolves both away in January, but with 4 wins so far, I would think we are pretty sure to progress to the next stage where it will, no doubt, be more difficult.
Obviously, we can't hope to win the thing (just like the first team in the FA Cup) but the more experience our lads get against tougher opposition, the better.
So far, so good (apart from Sai Sechdev's horrible injury in the home game v. Wolves).

U21s v Coventry at home today.

Not going well so far: 1-3 at HT.
RND sent off (2 yellows).
Easton off injured. Replaced by young Giggs.
Louie Marsh scored for us.
A bit worrying this as we appeared to have put out a strong side including: Shackleton, RND, and Andre Brooks.
🤬
