US Politics Thread

Trump was offered $25 billion some months ago, to build his wall if he would take care of the 'Dreamers'. Both Democrats and Republicans want the issue of the 'Dreamers' sorted out. Trump apparently refused.

The Dreamers, (not Freddie Garrity's backing band), are undocumented children of illegal immigrants. Most of them born in the USA.
DACA is a law, (process), devised to give them, the Dreamers, a pathway to American citizenship.
It would seem to be a sensible thing to do, there are an estimated 1.8 million Dreamers and the party that gives them that pathway to citizenship, would undoubtedly get the votes of the vast majority, in the future.

Trump wants to remove DACA from the legislation and presumably return them all, the Dreamer's, to their parents original homelands.

According to his latest tweets, Trump is willing to keep the government shutdown until he gets his $5 billion.

What warzone is that then Heathfield.
Twitter is the only one I can think of, what with Federal employee's and their family's telling everyone that they don't want the wall and they are struggling to pay their bills as they live paycheck to paycheck.
Some workers will not get retrospective pay when it's all over.
Trump hasn't got the nerve to meet any Federal workers face to face.

Actually the way things were set up at the time, Donald Trump was at college and got passes the first four times.
When the US changed the way it was calling up people for enlistment, in 1969, Donald Trump got a letter from a 'foot Dr' backdated to 1968, claimimg he had bonespurs. Arranged for by his father Fred Trump.
This Dr lived in a Fred Trump housing estate and never had his rent increased.

Donald Trump was helped out of bankruptcy 5 times by Daddy. Since then he has been unable to get a loan from an American bank, instead being bailed out the Deutche Bank, who have been fined $600 million for laundering russian mob money. He has also been helped by a bank in Cyprus that is part owned by a russian with close ties to russian mob bosses, oligarches and government.

10 companies that Trump has had have gone bankrupt, including 2 casino's in Atlantic City.
How can a casino go bankrupt?
A casino, being run honestly takes a % of every pot from every table, normally 5-10%.

Trump has the name of being a wealthy businessman but, it has been estimated that he overestimates his own wealth by a minimum factor of 10.
He is definitely not a successful businessman, how could he be with so many bankruptcies behind him.
Trump is only good at selling one thing and that's the name of Donald Trump.
He is nothing but a frontman.

Trump is showing signs of being a paranoid meglomaniac, he is definitely showing ever increasing signs of being a sociopath.
A dangerous combination when you consider the job he has.

Yeah I saw that - he's pretty good at maintaining his average of 10 lies per day for two years. Remarkable consistency there, although it's about the only thing he is consistent in :ROFLMAO:

We have had enough Rascist hatemongers at the forefront of our governing party for far too long as it is thank you 57.
And because they got away with it that spread into hate talk by David Cam-moron blaming immigrant, asylum seekers, unemployed, ill, homeless and aged people for the country's debt.
Not a word about the true culprits, the rich bankers playing roulette on the American housing market, who we bailed out, who were still getting multimillion £ bonus'. Fancy that, getting a bonus for losing your bank billions, you couldn't make it up could you.
And you fancy Boris 'Bumbling' Johnson as P.M.
Thats B.Johnson from the same schools, universities and clubs as Osbourne and Cam-moron, the pair who sold trickle down economics to the country.
Trickle down economics means, fill the pockets of those at the top and when those pockets are full, some will fall down the ladder to the next rank and so on, rather like a champagne tree. Utter Bullshit because the greedy bastards at the top keep adding more and more, bigger and bigger pockets in their jackets.
If this country got stupid enough to elect Boris 'Bumbling' Johnson as P.M. I would seriously consider shooting him.

As for trickle down economics, that was the Thatcher era really, it was flawed then, it is flawed now. I don't think the Tories have a clear philosophy right now, so they turned austerity into one.

Thing is (and I agree with what you are saying above) they can afford (literally) to play because they are rich. Not their fault they were born with silver spoons in their mouths, that's just the rub of the green, but it is their fault that they have no idea what it is like to live normally worrying about mortgages/rent, bills, putting food on the table and providing heating (there are those who can do one or the other only).

Their games don't cost them, they cost us.

And that's both parties these days sadly.
 
I wonder who is the leader of the USA.
It seems to be a combination of Putin and numerous oligarchs and money laundering russians, MBS, Kim Joun Un, Erdogan, Xi and Sean Hannity and the crew from Murdochs Fox news.
