Trump

He is showing all the signs of a fascist dictator. Any defence of him is therefore a defence of fascist dictatorships.

For those who said "don't take him literally... obviously claim x and claim y are just electioneering... let's wait and see what he does... etc", how are you feeling now? I would be interested to read ORF 's view as I remember him putting across this view. And Skip was a defender too.

Of course he's doing a good job, it's a great act and people are buying it.

As Frank Zappa stated.....

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater." -

He has banned people travelling to the USA from 7 Muslim countries. Arab countries with no bans are Turkey, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. and Egypt.

The Trump organisation has business interests in, or is at planning stages for proposed deals in, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E and Egypt.

What a coincidence.

By the way, it is thought that the 9/11 attacks, the biggest ever terrorist attack on the USA were planned in Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E.

You're right. Prior to his being elected I just couldn't believe that he could be such an idiot when in power, thought it was mainly to get the unemployed and other poor and dissatisfied on side. I still find it hard to believe what he's already started to attempt. 7 Muslim countries now offside and the ones who matter most don't get a mention. Abortion situation all topsyturvey. This talk of A Mexican wall and the payment thereof obviously up the wall (excuse that). The list goes on, and it's crap. And all in a very short space of time. Honestly can't see him lasting and that's apart from all his talk of tariffs and associated rubbish.

itto, I really think that either you or could do better.

They're getting dangerously close to civil war on his first week, if not with arms, with legalities.

This whole EO about immigration, the stay and now the airport authorities choosing whether to abide by the EO or not depending, it appears, on their own political views is bloody scary.

Not to mention him gagging government departments contact with the outside world. Outrageous. That's taxpayers money and he wants to change the message before the public hear it.
He has frozen funding to research programmes with immediate effect, which means that students and staff won't get their next pay cheque. You could argue that the wall and the Muslim ban were campaign pledges (although he immediately retreated to extreme vetting rather than a ban) but literally nobody voted to have all their information controlled by one dictator.

On the bright side, the backlash is quite heartening. The women's march was amazing and I love that the park rangers are leading the revolution. @RogueNASA is great too. March for Science soon too. Plenty of republicans are objecting very strongly and judges clearly aren't on board with the madness.
Turns out that most people actually do quite like real verifiable facts and don't want to live in this dystopian nightmare.

Is it lizards? It's lizards, isn't it?

Neither can I ORF, maybe an assassination on the cards.

I really cannot see Trump wanting to keep this shit up for the next 4 years.

Bit early for the drugs aint it ITTO?

Anyway, here you go fella, a little more help….

So Trump is one of them, so is Clinton, so is Sanders, and so is everybody else. Absolutely nobody gets into politics without first having been corrupted by this mysterious shady elite. The same is true across the world.

Is that right? Just trying to establish what you believe.

PS yes, a bit early for drugs but then I'm not the one backing up my position with a quote from Frank Zappa! :59:

Can they not get him sectioned?

Surely all these "alt facts" could be considered a mental health concern.

Denying things that there are multiple photos of, reams of scientific research about, etc isn't the action of a mentally intact person.

Thing is, Frank Zappa hung round with a kid whose father was commander of the U.S. naval forces in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked an escalation of American involvement in the Vietnam War.

Just maybe , just maybe the kids father may have passed on a bit of knowledge as to the real state of things to him.

Anyway speaking of drugs here's a factual account of CIA, MK ULTRA and LSD.

https://wikispooks.com/wiki/File:Acid_dreams.pdf

<img src="https://wikispooks.com/w/images/thumb/3/3a/Acid_Dreams.jpg/250px-Acid_Dreams.jpg" alt="Mountain View" style="width:404px;height:328px;">

“We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are.” —Old Talmudic saying

"It's frightening to think that CIA spooks have used LSD with electroshock and torture to get information out of prisoners. It's even more frightening that they have used it themselves to little positive effect. Or perhaps not. It's ironic and still scary to think that the CIA tried to control the LSD experiment even though hundreds of thousands were turning on in the heyday of the sixties. Neither the ironies nor the chilling implications stop here. The authors have plowed through thousands of pages of declassified intelligence material to reveal a complex tissue of connections between secret government agencies and the academic world on the one hand, and between the Utopian hopes of a generation and the machinations of those same agencies on the other. It's a riveting story that makes the most paranoid and outlandish theories of the sixties seem insufficiently paranoid. "

Seems that all Zappa was saying is that there is a bigger threat to citizens from their own governments that from foreign countries. Seems perfectly reasonably and equally true today.
Shame that foreigners are always scapegoated so successfully.

But the suggestion that 'they' controlled Obama's policies and now control Trump's policies is silly and your suggestion that he is "doing a good job" is still unsupported. You aren't even consistent in consecutive posts.
"He's doing a good job"
"maybe an assassination is on the cards"
"I can't see him wanting to keep this shit up" [suggesting that he is in on the game]

Any why would 'they' change their minds so abruptly? You aren't a big fan of Occam's razor, are you?

Anyway, I didn't start this thread to discuss Machiavellian control by invisible forces. Let's just take him at face value as an elected official. Is he awful? Are his policies awful?

I have most contempt for him and the team, of course, but I save a little bit for those who said Hillary was equally bad, or even worse, and that she would undoubtedly take us into world war three with Iran.

Itto, I believe we live in a shit system and a complete reset is needed.

I try and educate myself on different theoretical political / monetary systems put forward by folk with more understanding of things than myself.

If this is madness in your or others eyes then so beit, but I will continue to put forward alternative polices that I believe that may help those that live in povety.

One theory I am familar with and think that merits discussion is that of social credit by C. H. Douglas.

Unlike Basic Income theory, that is currently being experimented with by a few countries, it differs in so much it is not paid out of taxes, but out of national debt.

Like the banks it creates money out of nothing however unlike the banks no interest would be charged.

It would also be based on productivity, and although it was first postilated in the 1930«s it is increasingly becoming more relevant today with the advent of robotics making vast inroads and making high levels of un-employment a likelyhood in the near future.

High un-employment more than not leads to war.

OK, maybe Zappa hasn't any letters after his name so here's a couple of links to people who have to explain things…

Got to smile at you boszi with your views on shit systems and resets.
It's never been any different, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And the divide gets wider every year. And once in a while we get a war to sort some of it out, but it never gets everything sorted out, just helps folk to forget the basics for a while.

Over the years I've come to believe that a person really has to live a very long life and experience the odd war and other setbacks to gain a real experience. Then we can speak with a bit more authority.

In the end it still boils down to basics, as in "thank god that's the last mortgage payment", or "are our kids O.K.",and similar thoughts.

Getting back to Trump though, I believe he was elected in part to help the poor, unemployed etc achieve a better life. If he maintains his current actions there's every chance that he'll achieve the opposite and it may not take too long.

Will be an interesting 12 months if he lasts that long.

:14:

he wont last 12 months - he's completely incompetent to be President.

Nice one brexiters - you created world chaos. Protests on the streets, the violence will start soon enough I expect. Clueless to what you've started.

Marco, why don't you start a thread on Brexit? There'll be plenty of takers.

I'd do it myself except that I'm not a proper Englishman any more...... :15:

You are right ORF, its never really been any different , well, over the past few 100 years or so anyways, it's like this commentator remarked.....

"They have done a remarkable job since this vid was posted, but the simple FACT is that Amerikans are happy with the shit shoveled down their throats, and do NOT want to hear the truth, it being far easier to simply shout "CONSPIRACY THEORY!" and wait for your TV show or the new iPhone release."

The vid he is refering to is the one below, it's by ex- CIA agent (he informs us he's got several graduate degrees) he also agrees the system is shit....its only 10min long so it wont take much of your time.
