Trump ...

I understand HMS Dragon was scheduled to go to the far north, because of the North West Passage situation (the news storm last month).
Hence the delay in kitting it out for warmer and war locations.

What was that Ben Wallace said about hollowing out our military.

The impending war has been known about for months. Any retrofitting should have started then and the vessel already in theatre when the missiles started flying. It’s a gross failure of the government that this isn’t the case and is no getting away from that. As a consequence our own allies are questioning our commitment and reliability and we are at risk of losing vital military air bases. We’ve become an international laughing stock and irrelevance. Heads should roll, but as we frequently see no one is accountable in this day and age.

I note Italy have deployed a frigate to protect Cyprus. I’m sure they’ve only done so to troll and embarrass us further.

When people make things up, there's just nowt anyone can do about it.

Thanks for the view on retrofitting the ship though.

Who’s making things up? The impending war has been known about for months, as confirmed by numerous sources, including your beloved government. Just because you lack the ability to add 2 and 2 together and reach the answer 4 is obviously your gullibility and lack of foresight shining through.

As for the retrofit, it is HMS Duncan than was on standby, but for whatever reason was not deployed. It is a catastrophic failure of leadership that no destroyer was deployed weeks ago to protect assets. Spin it all you like but the government has failed in its primary task of keeping the country safe.

And there we go again ... making stuff up to decorate your own version of the world.

Meanwhile, Trump (who said he was never going to start a war, but said that Harris would do) is getting ever more desperate to avoid further exposure of the Epstein files.

It would be quite fun to watch if it weren't so horrific.

Again, who is making stuff up? Are you saying you don’t believe the government now? Were you scratching your arse whilst the biggest military build up in decades took place in the Middle East wondering what it was for? Are you really that stupid or are you adopting the Starmer gaslighting tactic?

You are coming across as a full blown conspiracy theory nutcase with this repeated Epstein distraction obsession. I haven’t responded previously to this rubbish you’re now frequently posting, and nor it would appear anyone else has, because I don’t believe in fuelling delusional beliefs or giving oxygen to said nonsense, However I’m becoming increasingly concerned about your mental health so feel it’s only right now to call it out. I thought you were better than falling for such nonsense. I was clearly wrong.

So our less than illustrious PM has suggested via intermediaries he may deploy an aircraft carrier to the Middle East.

Just four questions.

1. Will we actually put any aircraft on it?
2. What the hell will be sailing with it to protect it.
3. What year is he planning on deploying it?
4. Has anyone told Ed Milliband?

No matter. What any one thinks of Trump . Not one person can say Iran is not a very dangerous country. They might not have nuclear. Weapons to send. At this moment. But if they ever get one. These. Radical idiots would use one.
Nuclear inspectors have never been given full access to the nuclear sites. That been said. A good few times. I would imagine that the US intelligence has a lot more idea and information than us key board warriors.
I’ve no sympathy for any country that slaughtered thousands of its own people.

It gets worse for our hapless PM. Now been publicly rebuked by Tony Blair.

“I am not saying anything that I haven't already said to the government... I think we should have backed America from the very beginning'.

We have got to be very clear about this as a country. We're depending on the American alliance for our country. They are not just an ally, they are an indispensable ally.

Every single time you test an alliance you never test it when things are easy. You test it when it's hard. They were asking to use our bases to refuel... it's not like it was in Vietnam... not like the Iraq campaign where we had thousands of British troops.

The American relationship matters. It matters particularly today. It's not a question of whether it's this president or that president. If they are your ally and they are an indispensable cornerstone for your security you had better show up”

Obviously not ground breaking insight, as anyone with more than half a brain cell has been saying this for a week. They didn’t want troops, they didn’t necessarily want aircraft or warships to be involved in the offensive, they just want a bit of public support and to use their airbases based on our territory. Not a lot to ask really. Ive no particular love for Blair, he started the death spiral the country is now in, but he is a statesman and can see the bigger picture far better than the student politicians that inhabit the government.
