Trautmann - the movie

A remarkable story that appears to be heading for the big screen. A City hero and legend and a story that bears telling to a broader and younger audience. A brave decison by the club to sign him only 4 years after the end of the Second World War and one can only imagine how it felt for the former German soldier and PoW . :005:

Bert was the man that first got my interest in City in 1953. That cup final and the broken neck.
I was ten years old at the time.
Some water has gone under the bridge since then and I might add, a few malts. :008:

and a few goalies Bart, my favourite was harry Dowd, not the best or the tallest but gave it everything, the only City Goalkeeper to have scored a goal (Bury) but that is off topic

Bert was a fabulous goalkeeper and the film should be interesting to see how they portray him.

When does history start then?; Is it from when people are born, because a lot of people only remember the Premier anything before that is not real.
