Transfers - Jan 2025

I think there are going to be so brutal decisions this Jan.

The ever elusive DM.
Another CB.
Proper competition for Vicario.
Also competition for Udogie.

Maybe even a replacement for one or two players who could leave?

A defensive midfielder is a contradiction in terms in Ange's playbook.

Micky Moore had yet aother excellent game at LWB/LW, we just need to start trying him, and the gap is filled.

Rich is a right handful when available. Ange stating the bleeding obvious. Unfortunately he's rarely available. I'm with Ex on this one. As good a player as i think he is he must be sold in January. His injury record with us is absolutely atrocious.
You can't sell a player who refuses to leave.

You can threaten to exclude him from the matchday squad, isolate him etc., but it seems counter-productive to treat a £60m player that way, at least if we want to recoup a chunk of our money.

It's hard to fathom why he has become so injury-prone at Tottenham when his record in the PL before joining us was exemplary?

I wonder whether his treatment under Conte is a contributory factor? He arrived in the prime of his career and spent the following year sitting on the bench. Mentally and physically he deteriorated in that spell.

We will be 2-3 players short, same as we've been every transfer window for the past 20 years.

It's not just the number of injuries he's had though Gary, we must factor in his recovery time as well. That has been no better. It's unfathomable how long it takes him to recover from pretty standard injuries.

I'm at a complete loss as to why that should be. Only those qualified to determine his medical & mental well being can make those assumptions. What we can say with a fair amount of certainty is this cannot be allowed to continue. Without him there's a big gaping hole where he should be spearheading our attack.

I repeat, i say this with a heavy heart cos i like the big fella, if we want to move forward he's got to be moved on. Over to you Ange.

Pretty much what we needed in the transfer window just closed. None of which were addressed. We did get a few teenagers though who may or may not turn out to be good players. And we have started work on the hotel so things are looking up. I wonder how much the hotel is costing - probably the price of a decent centre half and a number 6. Still it will increase the value of the club and bring in some extra revenue somewhere down the line.

One has nothing to do with the other. Do you not listen to Ange's pressers?

Or are you just winding up again?

He's very highly thought of there, as you know Luke O'nein is one of our lads and he often says he should be playing higher, but PL standard, I just don't know?

I have a feeling this could be a real breakout season for him. The one area I'd really want to see him improve on though is passing.
