If his ailment is made worse by overworking it it could make a lot of sense to scale back training and keep yourself in trim with diets and light workouts.Barnet or lower might allow a lighter training regime which could suit him physically.
Some sort of pay off might suit all sides?
But possibly near the end of the month is most likely looking at it from Hawkins view point.Leaving it till the end of the season could leave him without a club.
So I can see a club agreeing a deal with limited options available that might give him another 18 months?

I think it's only recently that he's been listed as injured - and he still is, according to Coleman. Before that he was just out of favour, barely mentioned. Perhaps the harder pitches are causing problems for his fragile foot?

Talking about injuries to players I was wondering if in the case of a career wrecking challenge in future perhaps longer periods of suspension could be dished out .With games filmed a challenge like the one on Garry Richards all those years ago should have resulted in a season long ban.These days films would have provided concussive proof.
