Transfer window rumours - it already started

Our back line hasn’t had any consistency this year. We’ve seen Shad play CB and LB. Masterson coming in and out. I think I recall Wakeling playing RB at one point. We have the young lad replacing Hutton. And we’ve had 3 different GKs so far.

I’m a firm believer that you need a stable back line for them to develop a common understanding. We haven’t had that and I suspect that it means we haven’t got the best out of Shad.

I rate him but happy for him to leave for the right price. If we get £1.5m for him then it will have been a good bit of business. Perhaps those folk complaining about KJ and AH might give them some credit for once.

Only way any club pays 1.5 will be heavily incentivised. No doubt with the right development he may become really good but at the minute the brain freezes are really holding him back . I’ve said before he’s unbelievable recovery pace . I feel he can be complacent hence the mistakes . No coincidence he was dropped v Salford .

He has been a good signing but not starting for a struggling League Two team won’t do his chances moving up the ladder any good .

If there's genuine interest with a decent fee involved for Ogie then I'd be more than happy for him to move on. We have to become a good selling club who command decent fees for decent players or we won't become a sustainable club long-term as the Galinsons want. We haven't had many players worth selling in recent years so we need to make the most of it when they come around.

I think he's decent and he has a lot of attributes (mainly physical) that would be attractive to clubs higher up the ladder but he just makes way too many errors for me to be that fussed about him leaving. I accept that young players will make errors but he's experienced enough now to have cut out the repeated problems. Compare him to John Egan or Simon King, two other young centre backs brought to the club who were both comfortably ahead of Shad basically because both were consistent 7/8 out of 10 every week - even Jack Tucker didn't make howlers every few weeks and he was still a teenager when he got into the first team. Shad's good performances are very impressive and he looks a monster, so if someone can get that tune out of him on a weekly basis he'll turn out excellently but I don't think that's going to be here.

Agree with Joe. Ogie is an accident waiting to happen and the longer he's been here the more shakey he's looked.

You know he's just as likely to do something costly as he is brilliant. He's at his most dangerous (to us) when he has time.

I'd much rather we had a CB playing at CB rather than a footballer.

Nyron was a very good player but should have left earlier for his own development. Ogie in a somewhat similar position in my opinion, he might well shine with a greater challenge.
Nyron ended up doing ok for himself, but understand where you are getting at, as nobody knew where to play him. I remember him making his debut as full back and Peter Taylor playing him as striker in his first few months as Gills boss

Roy Keane nailed it, playing him as CB. Keane said it was best as it didn't give him time to think about things and mess them up as a result. I always thought he played best for us when he partnered Chris Hope in CB.

I am wondering if Ehmer has got a problem when the team he plays for is struggling. If Ogie was being helped vocally by Ehmer ?
When trouble with results started Ehmer gets more and more concerned about the overall picture and stops pulling strings at the back .A lot of pairs work together Garry Richards was perfect example without Simon King he was non league. With Simon he was as very good solid lower league defender .That could be part of the reason Masterson and Ogie never worked as a pair .Ehmer has been a great servant but I can't help thinking that his captaincy and time is fast coming to a close .

What a time to be alive. Look away for a few days and people are discussing Ogie as £M player.

Bite their hands off.

Athletic and full of potential but he makes so many mistakes.

If we can sell for a good profit with lots of add ons in case he fulfils his potential then that would be great business. I wonder if the O's put a sell on clause into the deal. You would think so.

£M is way off the mark as it stands. Having said that, if a money rich club such as Birmingham was interested, then any fee might see an element of inflation.

My guess as to market price for Shad, based on age, strength & potential, is circa £350K - £400K. Minus, as is likely (as you say) Orient`s sell-on money. The big money (if any) for GFC is more likely following futures/add-ons.

Birmingham paid £15 million for Stansfield
£3 million for Shad is a steal 😉

If Shad were to be sold for more than £250 I think Brad would walk too this mystery club backwards without shoes and socks, honestly he can’t be worth more than 1M when not getting in our 11.
