Transfer deadline day

It is a concern that we could start next season virtually from scratch.
This has been a on going problem. Scally only wants a manager to be in the job for 2 years maximum. Players are generally on one or two year deals with a handful on loan .That means needing at least ten or more players every year .Generally with no funds to buy players.Without the biggest budget the better players will head elsewhere. It is a viscous circle that many clubs are in and in the current climate it will only get worse in the short term .The plus point is that there will be many other clubs scratching around for players too.

Really? If so this is worrying.

There is a flip side.

We are not tied in to long contracts at a time when there is huge uncertainty.

I guess PS is a little risk adverse about speculating on a player’s future value which would need him to offer long, expensive contracts. We all know that one bad tackle wipes that investment out in an instant.

A player gets a long term or permanent injury but as they are out of contract no problem

or

lose SOME quality players for £0 and they leave for free.

Which is the more likely?
