How do we approach this? Certainly a win is in order. But do we rest our in form players? Playing time for less utilized players?

We will have 6 days to recover till our next league game so regardless of opponent I think we should go fairly strong still. I want us to go all out for the FA Cup, more than capable of winning it if we take it seriously, can't underestimate anyone.

Vorm, Trippier, Toby (or Jan), Wimmer, Davies, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Alli, Son, Janssen

Vorm
Tripp Vickers Wimmer Davies
Winks Dier
Sissoko Son N'Koudou
Janssen

Will Mauricio Pochettino take this seasons FA Cup seriously by fielding a strong XI against Championship side Aston Villa on Sunday or will he be bold by mixing it up...

Well, if he does a weak lineup and we will lose, a lot will be questining him again.

Well, if he does a weak lineup and we will lose, a lot will be questining him again.

If our second string of players cant beat this lot it's the players who should be questioned.

Perfect opportunity for some of our squad players. No point in having a squad if you don't use it.

Vorm, CCV, Wimmer, Davies, Trippier, N'kou, Moose, Winks, Son, Sissoko, Janssen.

Would give N'Kou a chance as a LWB. He has quite a good work ethic and we know he has the pace.

Leave some big names on the bench just in case.

I want us to go all out for the FA cup. The reason being I am confident of top 4 so CL is on the cards....the reward for winning the Europa . Why slog through the Europa ? I wouldn't ditch it but focus more on the FA.

Winning the FA cup would give both us and the players deserved reward. Poch and his staff also. It's a nice medal to have to look back on their careers. Lots of history and worldwide credibility

“It’s an important competition the FA Cup. Maybe it’s a good chance after a very busy period to give some chance to players who have not played regularly.

“They need to find way to be competitive. We want to go far in this competition too.

“We need to assess the players. We have to try to take best decisions to help the players and team achieve big things and go into the next round.

“Not only physically but mentally, maybe some players need rest after different competitions.

“We need to trust all our players. It’s a collective and we must make everyone feel important and part of our success and failure.”

Looks like Poch will play some squad players. It's important to do so as the players who don't play much will get pissed off. Perfect game to show some faith.

I also agree that Poch has to play the squad "fringe" players. This will give them the chance to keep motivation. Get them more used to playing with each other, in a competitive game, rather than at the training ground. Which is not the same, as at WHL in a serious match.

I think we have the squad depth (at least on paper) to have go at FA cup and Europa. If i had to choose i would go for Europa for the exposure it affords even if we dont win it.

This is an important game in terms of continuing our momentum.

As you say, plenty of recovery time till the next PL game , but it's tricky as Poch will want to keep squad players feeling involved.
Whatever team he picks I'm hoping for a no dramas, laid back 2-0 or so win.

It is, keeping a winning run going is good for everyone whatever the competition.

We have tried to battle on all fronts before and failed. The PL is a given but after that I would concentrate on just one other competition . Like I said the reward for Europa we will probably achieve anyway and if we don't get top 4 we don't belong in the CL anyway so getting in via Europa is pointless.

Go for the FA cup and fringe the Europa to an extent.

Give Jansen a full game ...rest Harry and if he flops sell him in the window cos if he cant do the business against villa then he aint gonna make it in the pl is he.
