Go on then , the Radio 2 poll has prompted some discussion and I will consider my top 10 albums. Going to take me a while i think.

Do you have to own them or could you , say for instance, have heard them round at your mate Kev's place which was a loft extension actually , as he had a job and could buy them and you were doing A levels at the time and couldn't afford them?
I'm sure we can all relate to that scenario eh?

I can't. My mate Kev didn't live in a loft conversion. He had a basement flat.

Well I'll start us off with Blue - One Love.

I think we can all agree thats number one, so lets just debate the other 9.

A Vital Villa top 10...Sounds good, let the voting begin.

This is all going to come down to age isn't it?

While I appreciate bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Queen no doubt made some great albums, I've never actually owned one (other than Greatest Hits) or listened to one all the way through, so my personal list is more likely to include bands like Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Oasis and even kasabian, which may seem laughable to some over a certain age......

.. you old bastards!

Well I meant musical albums as the Radio 2 poll prompted this and yes it's down to the era you grew up in etc .

If you liked an album enough for it to be in your top 10 surely you would have bought it ?

I have just spent 10 mins jotting down a few . It's not as easy as you may think.

'Marquee Moon' - Television
'Forever Changes' - Love
'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake' The Small Faces
'Revolver' - The Beatles
'The White Album' The Beatles
'Sticky Fingers' The Rolling Stones
'All Mod Cons' The Jam
'The Queen Is Dead' - The Smiths
'Highway 61 Revisited' - Bob Dylan
'The Stone Roses' - The Stone Roses

No why buy it if it was free? And you didn't state musical.

Please get the terms and conditions right.

.

Well no not really.

I liked the Stones, The Beatles, Queen, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, in fact I like a lot of music that was before my time, but in this modern age of music downloads I tend to only download 'the hits' rather than full albums.

Got loads of songs from the above on my iPod but none of the full albums.

Anyway my list for what it's worth (in no particular order)

1. Bob Marley - Legend (although isn't that a Greatest Hits, so probably dosn't count?)
2. Oasis - Definately Maybe
3. Oasis - Whats the Story Morning Glory
4. Kasabian - Kasabian
5. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
6. Nirvana - Nevermind
7. Terrence Trent D'arby - The Hardline according to Terrence Trent D'arby
8. Michael Jackson - Thriller
9. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever people Say I am thats what I'm not
10. Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood

Just to prove a point, I've quite quickly listed some (IMO) brilliant albums by artists that do not feature anywhere in the radio 2 list - even though Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Ce Lo Green all do????

The Specials - The Specials
Caro Emerald - Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor
The Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
Ocean Colour Scene - Moseley Shoals
Madness - One Step Beyond....
The Saw Doctors - If This Is Rock and Roll, I Want My Old Job Back
Deacon Blue - Raintown
Travis - The Man Who
Seal - Seal
Crowded House - Woodface
Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving
The Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go

Will take me a while this I think. Will have to look when I've got a little more time. Not convinced I can slim it down to ten!

U2 - The Joshua Tree
AC/DC - Back in Black
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
Oasis - Whats the Story Morning Glory
Tears for Fears - Songs from the Big Chair
Queen - A Night at the Opera
U2 - Achtung Bay
Blondie - Parallell Lines
AC/DC - If you want Blood.
Oasis - Definately Maybe

So I'm assuming in your rules Dennis an artist or band can feature more than once? (unlike in the radio 2 poll) Does that also mean, live albums and greatest hits are allowed?
