On researching Michail Antonio's record, I noticed he played for Tooting & Mitcham. I wonder how many people remember this disastrous performance , which actually ended up with us winning the FA Cup in 1959! Like the playing conditions too!

Despite being born in 1954, I was always disappointed I couldn't remember our last FA Cup win. Now most people on here probably don't remember our European Cup wins!

Wow, we've been shit at corners for 60 years then.

Love the shots of the crowd, the woman in the crowd 2:06 in is clearly grinding the love eggs.

That game was marred by crowd trouble a man in row F coughed without putting his hand to his mouth.

Proper days of football!
I remember seeing the team bring the cup home in 59 down Queens Drive.
One of the reasons the FA cup is a devalued competition these days is because it was so much more exciting in those days, matches could go to several replays before conclusion, no penalty shootouts etc.
Proper blood and thunder tackles.

People often say that, have to say I prefer football where creativity & invention are encouraged, rather than the attempt to harm a fellow professional.

I also prefer games to be over after two ties, rather than go on & on.

FA Cup isn't devalued because dangerous tackles have been outlawed, it's devalued because it's no longer of value financially to the bigger clubs & so they don't take it seriously.

Award a champions league space for the FA cup winners & watch the romance of the cup come flooding back.

I well remember going to see the replay, which we won 3-0 I believe.

Sadly my dad wouldn't take me to the final, so I had to be content with watching the cup being brought back to Nottingham.

Great days.

ORF missed that game. He was drawing his pension.

Banger would've been there but he was celebrating his 40th with a few light ales and a good old chin wag in Polari.

Too young to go to the final, but the Football Post did print a picture of fans on Beeston Station waiting for the train, which included my dad and Uncle. Who remembers buying the Football Post (Pink if I remember correctly) on the way home from the match to see all the other scores and read the report. We didn't even have a tele to watch the scores on!

Agreed.

[But what kind of romance comes with a cheque at the end?]

The least stressful kind :35:

I was eleven years old when we won the cup and yes, I do remember how lucky we were to survive the tie and get a replay. I also remember the difficulties we had getting past Birmingham City.

So I have been a Forest fan for 59 years and up to 2014 I had a season ticket in the Brian Clough Stand despite a two hundred mile round trip for home games. Fawaz did it for me I am afraid, not just the awful performances but dragging the good name of the club into the dirt. Not paying bills, winding up orders, inane Twitter comments, etc

I just hope that the takeover goes through and I see Premier League football again at my beloved City Ground before I shake off the mortal coil.

What are the chances?

Now then number5, behave yourself.
The pitch for that Tooting game resembled a ploughed field, we were lucky to get away with a draw.
But I did see that 1959 Wembley final, high spot of my time in supporting Forest. On reflection probably the only one.

I think it was Galaxy posting earlier on present day skills and he's probably right but for sheer excitement the old 235 setup took a bit of beating and I think I took a lot more satisfaction from that then I ever do these days.

Just remember though that it's not every team that's won an FA cup, and also a couple of European Cups to go with it. One day we'll be out of this current shambles, better days ahead.
