Too Early for a Summer Transfer Rumour?

That list of keepers on SW looks unlikely to me, all parents clubs would be expecting regular starts.

Wickens is the established number one, any new keeper would be on the bench. Even if George gets off to a shaky start, the club have enough faith in his ability and the coaching support to try to get him over that.

Difficult one to reconcile.

Perhaps the club want to be well stocked just in case we receive a huge bid that we cannot turn down later on in the window.

The keeper we are signing I would expect to be capable of stepping should that happen. Albeit he hasn’t played at Championship level.

I did think we would use the emergency loan market if Wickens got injured but that is only a short term fix. We might be covering all bases just in case.

Adam Davies of Sheffield United may be an option. They have said they may look for a new keeper if the opportunity arises. Full Wales international with Championship experience.

As long as the club we loan him from isn't bothered about him playing because can't see anyone getting many games. So I think that will cut down are options.

Stevenage keeper was impressive last season, lots of clean sheets, and low goals conceded. Good signing by them.

I honestly don't see the point of another keeper unless it is us that wish to send Pardington out on loan. As others have said clubs are not going to be keen to send a bench warmer and I can't imagine the player would be delighted either unless it is a veteran wanting a change of scenery and the club happy to get a wage off the books.

We don't want three keepers taking up squad slots. If Wickens struggles, sold or is long term injured I imagine we have options in January with Jeacock or a new keeper. I am interested how this pans out and the logic behind it.

Insurance against a few factors. But mainly injury. What if wickens gets injured on sept 2. Would you be happy with pardington in goal then. Do you want to wait until January for the replacement in that case.
