Samuelson specialises in advising on and managing transfers of ownership. It's what he does. He puts temporary arrangements into place to ensure there's a smooth transition. He has long gone. He is nothing to do with Villa. Period.

I don't think anyone is saying he has McParland... I know for me, I just had eyes wide open that he was needed at all. Again, as above, when Randy wanted us, he just opened his wallet. He didn't need people structuring this, that and the other.

I think it is more a case of him panicking around trying to get money, trying to attract what I don't believe he will be able to, minority investors or to sell without making a loss.

I don't think any of that will be possible. Then what? Over to him. Very worrying.

Yes and all the time speculation is rife.

A mate text me this morning saying we will go into administration this week , I didn't ask where he got that from , but the fans are rightly nervous.

Some clarity is needed I think , but we won't get any.

At the time I was a bit puzzled at Samuelson's involvment. However, when you get a foreign owner with vitually no business links to the country, particularly one from China with all its restrictions, it does make sense to employ somebody who knows the ropes.

Randy was different; he was more familiar with this country and the business of buying a football club was less complex then. Maybe he could have done with a bit of advice though!

While I'm not panicking yet, I do agree the absolute silence (Hutton apart) is worrying.

It does appear to be a stick your fingers in your ears and hum loudly job. I suspect the truth will emerge the moment it is 100% fucked and we will not even have time to get to grips with the result

Aston Villa are considering selling a plot of land close to Villa Park to deal with their ongoing financial problems.
BirminghamLive understands that Brookvale - the staff parking site on the junction of Witton Road and Tame Road - will be put up for sale to raise funds for the struggling club.

The facility is in a desirable location close to the stadium and could raise around £4.5million if sold with planning permission.

4.5 million got to be having a fucking laugh, 130 houses in a carpark

Maybe the silence is because we may not be in the mess the media says we are.

A. Why would you offer Alan Hutton a contract if you cang afford his wages and you have an abundance of players in that position.

B. If you were desperate for money, you would have took the (reported) 15m Spurs offered. Nk point having a ferrari in the drive and no food in thd fridge.

C. Wy spend umpteen million on a new pitch , which, although is wanted is not desperately needed.

D. May be wrong on this one but arent we in the middle of redesigning Bodymoor coz of HS2. If we were broke we would surely just take the compo and use it on bills, and sod new pitches.

To me, nowt adds up

Good points. My way of thinking. But ... the silence is hugely worrying, all the same.

The silence says something is not right.

Be nice to know if it's just biting fingers nails level of concern or full on dropping your bowels.

Yes, take what you say McParland, still think he went with edgy characters and it has never fully added up for me.

Holtelower, he refused to replace the pitch last season when it was 11 years into a 10 year life span. Pitch was crap this year, had to be done but you do have question at one point the contract for it was signed and when the money dried up. You would image the pitch relaying (it's being presented as something revolutionary in the spin but it's pretty standard really, different camber and drainage system, but not earth shattering) was signed a good while ago as the contractors would have to plan and get all the doo dah (technical term) prepared.

Money ran out April.

So it does kind of add up if you strip it back a bit.

Hutton.. agreed, strange anyone is getting any contracts sorted at the moment.

My info is it might have to get worse before it gets better. I just don't see (and this isn't just my opinion) anyone being mad enough to invest a minority stake in a company so clearly struggling.

And if he still thinks, with takeover approaches, he can get his money back then we are in real trouble.

Hope my suspicions on him are wrong, that he is genuine and can either do the right thing or do a Randy and sell. Look at the mess Blues got in when their crook hairdresser hung on and on.

I just feel that the press, who we all know can't be trusted, yet we use tidbits of spurious information to prove our insecurities.

Last year under FFP we could sustain a loss of £83m, this year it is £61m. Add to that our reduction in parachute money makes the £40m "black hole" - hardly amazing journalism.

No new owner can make FFP disappear, no matter how rich. So we have to cut our cloth accordingly - we already knew this.

Wages had to come down, so the big earners have to go. Our turnover May 2017 was £73m and we made a loss of £7m from memory. Our wages for the entire organisation were £64m, so our fixed costs were £16m.

Our turnover will reduce by £18m to £55m this financial year which will not be reported on until May 2019. To me this is a cash flow crisis, which people have rightly pointed out can destroy a company. Wages are down while others (Gil, Gollini etc) have been sold.

No private company will tell anyone jack, so why do we demand to know everything - it would seriously compromise any bargaining power that we may have in the market.

While Xia's wealth is what people are fixating on, the position all along is whether we are self sustainable. Looking at the sums, I think we are probably about there, although getting rid of McCormack and Richards would be huge for us. We need to recoup £6m to not make a loss on these two players (transfer amortisation).

Sorry for the long post but I think our long term position is balanced and it is our short term position that needs sorting. This is why Xia is looking for minor investment.

BTW not suggesting this is not a serious position and everything is rosey in the garden.

Also error in the above - accounts for next season will be published 2020. It's. Easy to get confused.

I'm treating the media reports with a healthy level of scepticism and I haven't seen anything for a good while that has a direct quote or source. It's all 'it is reported' or 'understood'. So basically you haven't got anything! But it would be good to get something from the club even if it's only a holding statement. I'm sure Dr Xia would be tweeting like a demon if he had anything positive to announce, so that worries me.

Not helping my work that, despite myself, I am searching headlines every 30 minutes or so, despite knowing that it's in the main going to be rubbish. New definition of insanity I think.

As already stated the silence is deafening, mind you the odd person has been known to disappear in China do not think high profile counts for much if you upset the Government. You would think with his contacts in China Dr T. would be able to get a once in a lifetime contract with a Chinese club for Richards & McCormack wouldnt you.

Quite evident to me that things aren't great, its bound to blow up in the next few weeks. As someone above said, Xia would be tweeting like a lunatic if he had something positive to say. We are right up the creek without a paddle.

Just hope he does the right thing and lets go rather than do what Yeung did at Blues.

I know he isnt everyones cup of tea but I have just watched a 16 minute thing of Stan Collymore on You Tube talking about the issue at Villa, the problems of looking for the next Sugar Daddy and how 51% fan ownership is the way forward.

I agree whole heartedly with everything he says.

If you want to watch just search Aston Villa and its the first thing that comes up.
