Tommy Smith RiP

Not many players you can call true legends, but he absolutely was at Liverpool. Wasn't a Liverpool fan but so great to watch them in European competitions back in the day. RIP Tommy Smith.
 
Bill Shankly said if him 'he wasn't born, he was quarried'.

Real hard man in the days of hard men, but could play a bit too and was lucky enough in my student days in Liverpool to see Tommy Smith play and see him with the European Cup.

RIP, a Bossie player indeed!
 
AS someone mentioned earlier the word "legend"is use far to freely these days , but Tommy Smith is certainly one .

Ppart of one of the great teams this country has produced .

I saw him playing right back for Liverpool against Sheffield United in the early/mid 70s - he had a real presence, one of the real greats and personalities of the game.

Sad to see such a strong man/character obviously struggling with his health these last few months/years
