.....players wear "armor". Here is a video of our my teams all-star quarterback who was projected to be an NFL star. He suffered a dislocated hip and his tibia broke through his hip wall, and a broken nose. Forget playing in the NFL, he might not be able to walk correctly again. Lest he looks "tiny", he's 6 foot 1 inch, 15 stone and both of the players that landed on him were over 6 foot 3 inch, and in excess of 21 stone. The protective equipment is there to protect serious injury, but the only thing is truly protects is serious head injuries. Just a FYI for anyone interested.
