Time vs Money

Assuming you had enough money to cover the basics (house, food, clothes, transport, utilities), would you work more hours for luxuries or would you rather have the time?

Good question.

I'll take the money, I've had loads and loads of time after ops etc and I found them hard to fill !

Money buys lovely experiences, means mortgages can be cleared and futures assured which surely leads to more pleasurable time?

Time for me is far more important. David Beckham could be sitting on a solid gold toilet for all I care but the bottom line is that he is still taking a dump. He could sleep on a bed surrounded by diamonds - bottom line is that he still goes to sleep. Money is seriously over rated, the sun is shining this morning and I have just sat outside on the bench watching the birds eat the nuts on the bird table = time is very precious!

Depends what you want in life as well.

I do like 'nice' things albeit I realise they are only trinkets in the bigger picture, I realise any car can take you from a to b but I find my car an absolute joy to drive, it costs!

Holidays, I like things a bit less push and shove, again, that costs. You can do plenty in the world travel wise without much money, especially if fit and healthy you can take advantage of what comes free, long treks etc etc... that isn't an option for me so I'd rather a bit of luxury!

If offered health and time, I'd take that. If not, I'll take the money and find the time!

I didn't even think about health. I guess it's one of those things you take for granted.

Somewhere in the middle i think.

Id love to have a load of free time, but i make enough to go part time at the moment, and dont.

So id probably want the time, but find myself spending more hours at work so i can get that sex robot ive had my eye on.

Think you have to assume good health BB, if not you'd become a nervous wreck really.

Only a true idiot would vote for money over health one would assume?!

Certainly comes into my equation though. I would love to be truly rich (partly because I'd love to spread it around, help mates, family and some of the smaller worthy charities) but if offered £10m or my health, it would be health.

Oh and obviously I'd like one of the sex robots Rosetta is talking about. LOL

Having had loads of free time this past few years up until this year it was sending me insane no joke, it was great being round the kids watching them grow up before starting nursery etc but i need to be doing something and i feel like a sense of purpose in life,

So having lived through all the time in the world the past few years time is way more important than money but too much time can also make you lose the appreciation of what you really have being around your loved ones all day everyday whilst feeling like you should be out there working for a living and i found this can eat you up inside but this is just me we am all different maybe om just weird lol

The irony is that loads of money can result in loads of time... so I'll still stick with the dosh if I may (Mr Lottery, are you listening, I'm down to my last £10million at the moment and I'm having to start to ration)

Really really tough question... I mean like really tough.

I'd love to have more time to spend with Buddy, Nat and the girls, as well as friends and family.......BUT and he's the big thing, when you have time, invariably you need money to do things to fill it.

No point having time and being stuck in doors all day not being able to afford to treat your loved ones or take them out somewhere nice for the day.

I think it would be money for me on balance. With more money, i could buy more days holiday from work, and therefore spend more time with my family and treat them to nice things.

Health before money for me and as another of the VV disabled that has to be said first, as the conversation has filtered that way.

Time before money. A balance of both would be the best. Though I have had money with the ex and it didn't buy me happiness.

I have far less now yet I am contented and peaceful because I am in a good stable marriage with a man who treats me like a Princess. I digress again

Time of the 2 is the most important as time is so personal. I remember when Mom passed, standing at her bedside just staring at her thinking 'where ha it gone' It just goes in a breath

We're at a different stage. We're both retired from paid employment, the mortgage is paid, and we have enough to keep us going.
These past few years we've been doing voluntary (ie unpaid!) work; 40 to 50 hours most weeks. At the end of next month, our time here in Lancashire will come to an end and we'll be returning to Ireland. We're due a bit of rest and also the opportunity to spend a bit more time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
Ironically, I might even be able to get to see the Villa more than in the last few years; in our current situation, Saturday is probably our busiest day!
