Time To Stop Moaning

Vital Spurs has, for some time now had a reputation of having a load of members who do nothing but moan.

All forums do... all forums do....

I agree but there has to be a limit, surely?

Depends if you want a good forum with different people, or a dull one?

It would be a dull place if everyone agreed all the time and everyone was happy at everything.

You can ignore people who you deem to moan to much.

Could you not say there is a limit to being too happy with everything the club does as well?

As long as it does not get personal its all good.

Personally I comment on what has been written/opinions etc and if that is a negative, then so be it, it is my right.

Getting fed up with all the 'moaners' about people moaning heh heh

The only time I moan is in bed ooooeeerrrr :10:

To some extent the 'moaning' should make you stop and think, and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if you could see a reciprocal process being engaged in by those being overtly and continuously critical, it's not healthy to take and show enjoyment in your (Spurs) improvements = probably just as unhealthy not to show your anger when we should have done better.

The bottom line is that every fact of almost every measurement under Poch shows progress, of course it will only ever matter if that culminates in a measure of success, and to most that's silverware.

The difference is the differing Spurs fans view of patience and what constitutes a reasonable time, as I've always said, he gets three full seasons from me, then it's time to reassess progress.

All I see in the club is continuous small incremental improvements - so what is debilitating is when we don't celebrate our successes along the way, and for as many so called 'failures' in the transfer market we've suffered, we've also seen some remarkable successes - getting our hands on Deli was an incredible coup, far bigger than anyone seems to have realized or still recognize (irritatingly, it's those exact same arguments that Brendon learned from to capture Dembele away from us)..

Another Top 4 finish changes the narrative for and about Spurs when it comes to agents/players and other clubs (for too long as part of an agency I've seen how first not qualifying and then not consistently qualifying can count against a club in player acquisitions ) , so for me, this season another Top 4 finish would be a remarkable achievement and best of all a potential game changer and the indication that we've reached a key almost undreamt of inflection point.

I personally agree with all you said EX...my 'gripe' is not about the odd underperform or bad showing, I recognise the progress made by the current regime, apart from some of the strange signings which seem to have been a feature of our administration since the Bale money was wasted.
It seems we as a club do not learn from this and waste inordinate amounts of transfer funds on to be blunt players who are not up to taking us to the next step....Wanyama has been a great buy but there have been too many poor ones for my liking. I really think if we had been more astute, the current improvements would have been even greater.

If we had got a proven striker in I firmly believe we would be closer in the title race. Those games without kane fucked us. Instead we buy a guy who makes kuyt look good.

Don't forget Alli !! Alderweild, Dier perhaps a buys that ranks alongside when we bought Bale; similar cost, yet a much bigger impact and each may go on to be worth a small fortune.

We wasted much of the Bale money and our DOF handed AVB players that he didn't supposedly want, and that's the crux of the problem Poch has had too, until he pretty much chucked all his rattles out of the pram and the scouts have now all been chucked out instead!!

As of now, I don't moan about "Poch's" purchases as I know that the choices the 'transfer team' put under his nose was simply not good enough - which is why he had the paddy last summer that he did....

Only real gripe Poch persists in bringing shitso on ....lest Levy has instructed him to do so as he wants to remind other clubs that he still exists and so will be sold? heh heh

All along I have said they weren't Poch signings. He is no mug and expects his players to buy into his ways. He was getting stick on here for the signings. For me it didn't add up. With Sissoko it may have been the only doable deal so he took it in the hope he would fit in.

As for moaning I'm not comfortable with a blanket ban on it. Of course rude or insulting comments to posters should be avoided .

I have been negative about Hugo, especially his distribution and decision making and some think I'm unfair to him. Walker frustrates me sometimes. Dembele too with his lack of goals and assists. I wouldn't want to feel shackled on my opinions.

I guess it needs to be constructive negativity as opposed to destructive.

AGREE constructive negativity it is...

I firmly belive that shitsoko does not really suit our style of play and it would perhaps be a good career move for him to join a club where he would be a regular and played in his favourite position, and rekindle his desire and appetite for the game......

So fcuck off

I'm trying, really trying :17:

Or.....Sissoko , the shit being destructive... has to decide if he has what it takes by fighting for a place like Winks is. He has had little playing time which does not help.

Winks however is pushing Dembele and Wanyama, maybe Eriksen for a place. They have upped their games to keep him out but eventually he could oust them. Like a young Wolf constantly challenging the Alpha male.

I don't mind some moaning if it's warranted. If the poster has a moan or has some negative constructive ammo and goes into some detail I don't see a problem.

This place would be dead if it was all happy happy or oh well better next time.

Forums are about opinions, what would be the point of one if you can't have a little rant?

The odd moan is OK but I just find it frustrating when people make extremely blinkered negative arguments... E.g Poch being tactically clueless. Well somehow the clueless one has managed a team to the highest PL finish in our history, longest home win run and I believe the longest unbeaten PL run too, outwitting several supposedly much better managers on the way. And all with a far lower net spend than the beloved Harry Redknapp and inheriting a squad that was a mess IMO. It's not like he's never made a mistake and when he does I remark on them but it's like every time we don't win by 2+ clear goals people sharpen the knives instead of enjoying watching the most consistent (ly good) Spurs side in decades.

In what way Ex? As in Brodge persuaded Dembele not to sign for us because some other signings flopped?

I wrote the following via the front page comments section, just in case anyone from the forums missed it.

I wrote the article in an effort to put my case (and others) out there and from what I’ve read, I’ve done what I intended to do, and that is stir up debate and emotions (I should have done this weeks ago). Positive criticism is fine and dandy, but some would believe I want to turn VS into a ‘happy-clappy’ brigade of morons who have no opinion. And that is NOT the case. I really do want to see VS as a place where everyone can voice their opinion, without the fear of ridicule and abuse. I intentionally put my neck on the block just to see which way the wind was blowing and as I suspected, one or two have not let me down. Hey-ho, that’s life!

I am not going to turn, walk away and put my tail between my legs. Having said that I’m not going to hold grudges either. Emotions have run high, which is cool, but can I suggest that any ‘red mist’ is dispersed and we get on with what EVERYONE on VS has in common and that is, we support THFC and hopefully support this site.

Long live Vital Spurs.

No, we persuade Alli/his agent that we'd play him pretty much straight away at Spurs rather than let him 'acclimatise' to the PL, it was the clincher as Liverpool were offering more, but Brendon wouldn't and didn't offer him any guarantees of first team football, so he signed for us.

When he went to Celtic and managed to spend two two hour meetings with Dembele - and it was between us and them, he guaranteed him immediate first team football and convinced him he'd continue his progress faster with Brendon than with us, and I know he also did a pretty crude bludgeoning job of questioning if he'd ever get past Kane and Alli....

Game over, Brendon won that one.
