Time to consider a new coach

Spursex

Alert Team
On other sites and on twitter, the (to me) fickle over reaction nee panick over our results at Wembley appears to have escalated in some 'fans' minds to it's time to ready Poch's replacement - so who could we get now?

Add your own choices and let's see what alturnatives we can conjour..

I'll start with a few suggestions of managers with Premier league experience who would probably be available today, feel free to add your own candidates;

I'm sure we could come up with an extensive immeadiate short-list and probably an even longer more detailed one if the unthinkable for some happens and he lasts until the end of the season..

Happy voting!

Sorry Mate, stuff like this is as bad as the people it is aimed at.

If you criticise the manager you instantly want him out.

The manager has shown this year he still has flaws, pretending he hasnt is silly - he hasnt found a way to work out how to play at Wembley, he has come out and said we are too big for the cups - which is untrue and very disrespectful and hasnt shown an ability to do well in Europe (this season could be different)

Does that mean I want rid? no - but I want him to improve this stuff.

There is no middle ground.

Totally right - just silly to put this up as a topic when you hate all the 'panic'.

Make no mistake to win things we do need another manager, but it also needs owners with that aim. As it stands, we are a deeply flawed club and that is not the Tottenham I support.

WE all want the best results (0r at least, I hope so).

but bottom line is that after Saturday; this call is being made across social media today.

So, I thought we'd see where we stood., and if no one here wants him gone, then we can at least rule it out here :-)

If you prefer, call it a vote of confidence.

I wont say he wont win anything because he might but he has to get smarter with his attacking buys. You can't really keep going out there and buying hopefuls. Sometimes you just got to pay the money for the established, if they want to come of course.

People who say we havent got the money, we have we just spend it all on defensive players or sissoko.

yeah - gotta stop buying all these young players with unrealised potential like Llorente and sign someone with more experience, who is PL proven.

His latest interview he said we should try and win the cups but to prioritise them over PL or CL is a mistake as we should be aiming to build a team capable of winning the main comps. He cited Wigan as an example of a recent cup winner who have suffered as a result.

Having finished 3rd and 2nd in the PL and seeing Wembley 3/4 empty even though tickets were £10 for the League Cup game, the fact is the club, the players and now a lot of the fans all view themselves as above prioritising this competition.

Not that it's really about the prize money but it's just further evidence that ultimately the league Cup is tin pot. The prize money is £100,000 - losing the CL playoff is worth £2-3M.

My Lord, get this stuff off this site.

Oh, so we react when the minority extremists call for a new coach?

Ex, not sure you're fit to be a member of the "alerts team" with the drivel you've put up lately.

I know you're not advocating a new coach but to put this rubbish on the site, well, no wonder our numbers are down and people would rather rip off their finger nails with pliers than read the rubbish on here. :13:

I would give MP two more seasons to start wining trophies. Most Managers that win trophies rarely last three season's in their post even if they are wining trophies. MP has missed opportunities to win trophies, which trophy wining mangers seize, this is the difference between MP and a Conte or Mourino. MP needs to improve his in game management also needs to give spurs more playing flexibility.

He is in danger of his accolade/epitaph reading...

THE BEST MODERN DAY MANAGER NEVER TO WIN ANYTHING....

...bet he does though....with the Spurs!

I guess the question of Poch's contract will come up soon. He had 5 years I think.

I think it was extended to 2021.

These are very good comments. Kudos to you two. In a way, Pochettino is caught between a rock and a hard place. He has gotta kind of win something at Spurs now.

LoL!

The post count isn't an issue; if you follow Spurs social media and read some of the other social sites, and listened to the major Football radio after the game, you'll have heard and read an incredible number of calls for 'time to think about a new coach' - I was gobsmacked, but it's clearly a rising trend - so yes, I was trying to reflect what the above the line vocal minority have started to call for...

Beyond that; this site is all about the debate, the argument and to reflect our progress or otherwise.

Perhaps, on reflection given that it seems so many don't follow the trends, perhaps this poll was hasty, but it has proved a point.

Doesn't need to be understood - he'll have his reasons; the site activity lives or dies on it's activity (a simple truism that most understand) - if a thread gets a reaction, all well and good, if it doesn't or if he feels strongly enough to disagree and take a personal run at me - all well and good too. :10: :14:
