This thread has proved to be interesting reading. I must admit that I can see no justification for promoting discounted tickets for servicemen/women ahead of other sections of society based on their employment. This is in no way denegrating the effort of our forces the fine men and women that make up some of their number. Many many groups in society are existing on limited renumeration, and are generally undervalued by society and underappreciated for what they give to the nation, with tales of dedicated individuals being chewed up and spat out by the system. This is clearly wrong, but in my opinion, so is giving away discounted football tickets based on occupation.
