Three Marriott bids rejected

How can there have been 3 when there's just 1 of him?

Or did we bid for 3 Marriott Hotels?

Most confusing.......

Apparently, £6m is required. Is he really worth that much? or are we being played?

At £6million being played. I do think though that Peterborough will get their 5to6 million for him. He's young, quick and scores goals and Peterborough always seem to get the price they want!
If we could get him for £4million or under I'd be happy.
I can't see them budging though on what they want!

Nugent and £3m, Martin and £3.5m, Blackman and £4.5m or Butterfield and £6m? ;)

Marriott played 60 mins for Posh yesterday in Portugal scoring twice He wants to come go and get him or lose him

Marriott looks decent and scored a couple against Louletano. The worry is spending £6million on a player who may not find it as easy to find the back of the net against tougher opposition!
£6m would be a big gamble! Offer £3.5m if they don't accept walk away!

Yes you may be right but if seems likely we lose Vydra then we are left without a regular goalscorer Where do you think we may be able to get one of those for £3.5 million

With the new system it looks like Lawrence will be taking Vydras position.
Martin, Jerome, Nugent and Blackman to play the number 9 perhaps?Get rid of two of these number 9s for £4million then we could offer the full £6million on Marriott, if not forget him and move on!

MoP. Bit optimistic £4million for two of them doubt we would get that for all four Heard Preston want Jerome Martin were stuck with because of his injury Nugent definitely can't play two matches a week Blackman what can you say

Agree with you Mista but without some extra cash coming in our way £6million will be a lot to fork out. It will also put the wage bill up. I think now we have to get a few players out the door before we bring anymore in!

Lawrence taking Vydra's position? Not IMO. Lawro is being played wide left. Wide left isn't, and never has been, Vydra's position. Lamp's version of 1-4-3-3 doesn't have the #10 role that Vydra plays. The central roles are a #9 and a DM

Nuge can't play 2 matches a week? Then play Bennett. He looks on fire right now. Is this, finally, the season in which he turns his potential into the real thing? I sincerely hope so.

Think MoP meant, if - and when - Vydra goes then Lawrence can play that role and has done, at international level, quite successfully. I agree and then the purchase of FloJo as the replacement wide man begins to make much more sense.

Of course if both Vydra and Lawrence both go that’s different but we’ll have about £20-£25m to spend. Interesting...as is the fact that Rowett seems to have come in for both Ince and Lawrence but doesn’t seem to share the same admiration for Vydra.

Don’t see the point of letting Jerome go, mista...decent footballer with plenty of pace and strength imo...he’s the last one of Nugent, Martin, Blackman and CJ himself who I’d want to offload, although I appreciate he’s probably the most saleable.

RA Think you maybe misunderstood I've not advocated any of them going think it was MoP i was just passing an opinion on their value Obviously if Lawrence plays the Vydra role we still need strikers Its one thing Lawrence looking good in friendlies have to judge when the real stuff starts seen to many non appearance games from him to get carried away yet But must admit the system suits him a lot better

I think my point is being missed here. Last season we had Vydra playing the "#10" role behind the striker. This season's 1-4-3-3, played the Lampard way doesn't have that kind of "#10" role. The front 3 consists of a "#9" and 2 wingers. The midfield trio has 2 wide men and a DM. If Lamps keeps to this system, just where would Vydra fit in?
