It isn't fair that everything falls on Bladesmad and other moderators on here.
The taking the knee thread has been removed following numerous complaints about certain posters.
On Vital we try our best to be a broad church, not stifle discussion and keep moderation as low key as possible. However, there are limits and a good few angry posts recently, have been on or over the line. No good shooting the messenger (those of us who run these forums btw) we don't define the law or requirements on forums, we just follow them.
Hate crime is defined as:
Hate crime is any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice towards a person based on their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or gender identity
You can easily dial back some of the rhetoric and still get your points over. Or talk about, what this network is meant to be there for, football and leave the politics to those who don't take it so far.
It is us, at Vital Central, or the site editor/mods who have to deal with the alerts, complaints, threats of taking things to the police, and we try our best to back our users, but some things we can't back and won't continually waste our time over.
As said, it should be very easy to dial back the rhetoric, post with respect, respect any opposing view and think twice before posting some of the stuff that is clearly over the top.
