I've just read where England 'keeper, Jordan Pickford, has had to hire bodyguards for himself and his wife after having death threats sent to him after the incident when he injured Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk in the recent Merseyside derby.

Van Dijk is a great player and very important to the Liverpool team, but football is a game to be enjoyed and not (despite the Bill Shankly quote!) a matter of life and death. That sort of behaviour is just unacceptable. I would like to think the people making the threats could be found and punished but no doubt they will be covering their tracks!
