A mother and daughter who get £34,000 a year in handouts because they are too fat to work say they'd rather be happy and on benefits than depressed and thin
Janice and Amber Manzur weigh a total of 43 stone and are so overweight they have to use mobility scooters to get around.
But both women refuse to diet and mother-of-two Ms Manzur, 44, insists: "I'd rather my daughter live life on benefits being fat and happy than depressed and thin."
 
Surely the answer is to cut their benefits to a level that does not allow them to live the lifestyle that has caused and is now perpetuating their obesity.

 
Maybe that's the answer for me to enable me not to work? Get so fat that I can't get in the car, and then have to quit work and claim benefits instead... it's a thought...

They say they are ''happy' however I bet if they really had to get into it with a therapist they aren't. Nothing to do with the amount they get (thought that isn't helping) They just can't be bothered to eat and sort themselves out properly for whatever psych reason that is.

You can feed a family of 4 proper meals each day which are healthy. They just well yes we know, typical of the type of people who give all a bad name

It sickens me the number of people up in the Redditch shopping centre on motability scooters who are simply obese.

I know SO many people who fight to stay out of them, myself included and to keep in some semblance of shape.

Then these people do this and the country funds them.

I totally agree! I am always offered a wheelchair at the airports when we go away. I point blank refuse. I am disabled though mobile and mobile I will stay, even to a plane.

You get into any type mobility scooter/wheelchair and you never stop using it.

Granted I maybe in 1 in my old age, however it will be kicking and screaming, IF I am

Jeus I feel sorry for the Mother's Mother, and maybe a bit for the Mother of the daughter if they were born weighing that :17:

No they weren't born like that. Yes some people are naturally bigger. I know I am over the weight I should be (through medical) however not like that. Big difference between being overweight and like that. I just don't get how people can eat that much.

Granted there are some illnesses that can make you bigger, like cushins disease and under active thyroid however most isn't caused by that.

They need to haul them into therapy find the underlying root and set them on food plans, to stick too/monitoring them or start losing benefits.

Shouldn't have to be done however if it is the only way

The scooter's like a cruel joke, at least if they walked they'd burn something off, the only exercise they must get is chewing

Ah the famous Don I have never met on here. I don't think. Someone once said it was a good job, as we would have gone toe to toe and had a few dust ups. :15: :15: :15:
