Plenty of eyebrows were raised when we brought in Spanish striker Borja Baston last January as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Swansea City, but most rightly thought he was simply an additional body through the door (with some Premier League experience to boot).

Certainly seemed to be a good player before he went to Swansea. He must be pretty rusty through lack of playing. In our case think he was just a form of insurance in case we had more injury disasters.

To be fair to him he was hardly going to turn down a move to mighty AVFC.

This is a recruitment cluster that goes back to the looney decision to go into a premier league season with one senior striker who then got injured. The cupboard was empty. So had things been done right earlier this lad wouldn't have seen the light of day in January at VP.

I don't want football back to see us continue this debacle of a season.

In his only appearance for us he looked like a Kellogg's competition winner. He has absolutely none of the athleticism required to play at this level, looked dreadfully unbalanced. Ali Dia had more impact for Southampton, at least he had a shot on goal.

Daft thing is players like that will be out of contract before the season is ever going to get finished .
Not that he'd have played but there must be loads out of contract that could have played for various clubs. It's yet another reason to scrap the season asap

It becomes a real cluster fuck. You cannot prevent players from signing for other clubs when their contract has elapsed.

Imagine a scenario where other leagues have done the right thing and ended their seasons, whilst we carry on. Players will be free to talk to and move to clubs in those other leagues and could conceivably walk out on their English club with games still to play.
