There is a match in a few hours.....

What makes you think he can turn it around CP? the high scoring/hconceding games at the start of the season when we scraped wins by the skin of our teeth against teams below us even now?

Which is still slagging off his team-mates but stops short of accusing them of not trying.

To be fair, he is sent our for interview after one of the worst performances of the season - I thought he was quite honest, took responsibility, both individually and collectively.

Not worth a thread for Wigan Fan Comments as apparently on three of them have computers:

5,163 today and over 1,500 of them Forest.

Some people might say Forest weren't up to much, which is fair but some of that is us not giving them a chance to do anything.

Really pleased with the performance but I can't get too excited because our opponents were the worst we've seen all season.

They gave us so much space in midfield, it was no surprise that we were able to move the ball forward at will.

Still, there were several positives (one of which may be that Forest are bad enough to be a relegation contender too) and we can enjoy our Saturday night for once.

Cheers CP.

Common theme from the opposing fans that we are the worst they've played - worryingly, they are right and they see us as relegation fodder.

I know you are a fan of PM, but I don't think he has the ability to turn this around - do you?

PS - That's not me having a dig, as I do understand the constraints he has been working under.

It's also a common theme for opposition fans to see far more positives than certain posters...

Do I think he can turn it around? Yes under a proper structure without having shite players forced upon him and the handful of good ones sold behind his back. By the by we're not actually in the relegation zone...

I don't think many managers could keep this set of players out of the lower half of the championship, especially with injury constraints and our fooktard of a chairman. Certainly no manager we could have a reasonable expectation of attracting.

Do I think it's important we stay up? No, not particularly. What is important is we get the fundamentals right at the club. A constant cycle of sacking managers every few months and then rebuilding our squad just leaves us with a vast debt, and each season in a far worse position than the last.

Keeping PM would be the first step towards that (and it helps he gives youth a chance and attempts to play enterprising football).

However if we get a new owner who puts a structure in place and wants a new manager who will be a long term appointment then I can accept that. Just please let it be someone with a footballing ethos I can be proud of.

Thanks CP.

Personally, I don't think PM is up to it - injury & external constraints or not.

I do like the way he gives the youngsters opportunity in his team and I do think he's been dealt a poor hand BUT no worse than DF or Cotts.

From the very outset, I thought his rotation policy unwise, I could see that he was trying to assess his players, but I think you could be less disruptive, as there was always going to be a time when we had to make changes - injuries/suspensions etc.

You build confidence and consistency by playing regularly.

He continues to play players out of position.

I have always maintained that I thought his in game management was poor - the timing of substitutions and more importantly the instructions to players.

For some reason, he cannot see that Dumitru is woeful and persists with playing him, even though it was abundantly obvious where our weaknesses lay, and were duly exploited - Wigan being the latest example.

I do think he is a nice chap and it's a shame, but this is the first time I really have felt that a manager should be sacked - because he is just not up to it, that includes DF, SP, Billy (both times, especially 1st time, he got himself sacked 2nd time), SOD & Cotts.

I have excluded AMC - should never have been appointed & didn't last long enough for me to base a fair opinion.

I do share your opinion - we need to get a management team and rebuild the club, root & branch - ideally a long term appointment, so that we can find our ethos and our way!

I quite agree. I was contrasting him with Worrall who crossed a line (thanks to a failure of management when he should not have been put in that position).

I'd make Ben captain. Makes a clear statement about the club we want to be.

rumours Worrall and mills had a big bust up after worralls interview.

Apparently Mills threw a punch, missed, and then turned round and blamed everyone else in the dressing room.

That's two players now with the same complaint; and you know what, they are both right.

Worst performance of the season and hes clearly lost the dressing room

Put this on another thread, but huge bust up at HT between the players - Benny mentioned it, then at FT - nothing said.

Big rifts within the squad - off field issues clearly don't help.

It will be interesting at the training ground today.

What is it about that dressing room!?!
