The "Title is Theirs, Let's Give it to Them Now" Thread

If they are unable to complete the season but give Liverpool the title, it will forever seem to be a hollow victory and somehow a little tainted, but there maybe no other option.

They are undeniably due to be champions but it would always have that mark on it. I am at a loss to see how the league fixtures caan be completed. If this thing runs it's course as predicted over the next 10-14 weeks and the government institutes the ban on mass gatherings next week.......well football will not restart next month.

No-one does expect that 3 April date to be on. They have admitted it is just to kick the can down the road whilst they decide how best to postpone/cancel the season. They have to organise so many meetings and gather all the options. My guess is we’ll know before April 3rd what the consensus is.

How can they do it, though? What about the Champions League places? No one will want to accept their place in the table. The best solution, scrub the season and start again in the fall.:grinning:

List of teams who missed out on Europe because of the behaviour of Liverpool fans at Heysel (without even dwelling upon the loss of life). If LFC lose out this year, they lose out.

There's what, two months left to play so even if it restarts on April 30th (which it won't) then we're looking at the season finishing roughly mid July. Possibly better to cancel 20/21 season, get this one finished whenever and then bring the Euro's forward to the Spring and give the players the Summer off? How this would impact on lower league clubs' finances would be another matter but not sure they can end one season and then immediately start another one. Contracts, advertising TV etc will be another matter.

Voiding is the only practical way forward, which will cost us our first European Cup, so we will have to make do with just the two pots we have won this season so far! Liverpool will just have to suck it up. If the season does start on time for 20/21 it will be a miracle looking at the deaths in Europe so far.

I imagine we'd lose the LC and CS as well as Sergio dropping down the goalscoring rankings. Plus Merlin would have played his last game for us.
