The Tim Iroegbunam Thread

I agree with all the positive posts, especially the one where he gave the ball away twice in quick succession but after he settled he didn’t look out of place.

The only point I would add is that he almost scored at the Holte End - what a debut that would’ve been for a deep lying midfielder.

Yes if that had gone in it would have been an amazing moment. On his weaker foot and he was sort of leaning back unfortunately.

Decent first start and villa park appearance. Won the ball several times and did a reasonable job in that position. Still looks a little raw at times but he’s just 18 starting his first game, he has potential. To a degree this season is just a free hit for him to build up some experience and the main test will be next season.

5/10 performance which is fine for a kid making his debut. No better or worse than anyone who has played there this season.

Next couple of games are a different beast to playing the worst team in the league by some way. So wouldn't play him for his own sake. He has come in had a taste now don't go overboard and get back to training and development. Maybe one more start this season after away to Burnley and home to the dippers are out the way.

Of course he was better than Luiz, he never got a booking or gave the ball away a couple of times, oh oh hang on

He reminded me of Isaiah Osbourne when he first broke into the team. He looked solid enough and at times impressive although a bit loose in possession.

A really good showing I thought against an admittedly weak team.

I'd guess he'd get his arse handed to him against a proper PL team but still nice to see at just 18 years of age.

If SG is thinking of offing Luiz with Tim as backup to Nakamba then that gets my approval, assuming we think Nakamba is definitely fixed.

I would be surprised if we dont bring in a big money DM in the Summer. Luiz may well be off. Marvelous and Tim will be back up possibly? We need to raise the standards all round.

Thats a bit harsh for a kid making a debut. You could also say he made the odd tackle something Luiz appears unable to do. For the record i also think Luiz is decent but not a DM.

I was just being sarcastic but I can imagine if Dougie had got booked and given away a free-kick there and miscued a couple of passes the normal suspects would have been slating him again but a young kid plays the same and get plaudits

I think they are both very decent players and Dougie is still only 23 which is something most forget

Tim Iroegbunam I wonder how he pronounces his surname, probably given up by now and just says Ibuprofen or Tim Painkiller
